Is a joint effort by western allies to produce a cheap, electric automobile for the millions of auto

owners something that could be done? Wouldn't jobs produced be beneficial to western economies? What would be the links between the producer nations and the countries that are rich in the resources needed to build non-petrol energy products?

Naive but asking?

this is unacceptable. If countries can offset these greedy SOBs then so be it though eventually owners of electricity will eventually follow the same suit.

There are many car companies working on this already; there is a considerable variety of transportation needs around the world, and trying to produce just one of them would end up with a bad compromise. I doubt many Americans would be happy with the automobile that suits the European market - let alone the Indian market.

What countries can do is work on infrastructure - charging stations (eg for the millions who have to park their cars on the street overnight, as well as fast stations for longer-distance travel).
