2. moving

inspiring...beautiful....

I'd like to think this kind of thing would happen in my town too, should disaster strike. But NY is showing us how to do it, with class, grace and creativity.

13. I think most communities would act in a similar fashion (at least I would hope so).

But, creativity... The Big Apple has that in spades!

7. Lance Armstrong's new day job is charging phones in areas with power outages?

Just kidding. Awesome how the biker pulled off that generator!

8. I love my city

While our hearts break for those who have lost so much, we're a very determined lot. The whole tri-state area will be back.

11. Caring and giving...

Demonstrating the antithesis of Romney/Ryan privatization. I know there are many more examples out there too. Kudos to you from the Hoosier state!

18. Same here, Jeez

Born in NY state, makes me feel amazed at the way people work things out wherever we are.

But the methods in the OP have a distinctly NY flavor - I miss that can-do spirit of NY. And the pizza.....

Best wishes to all who suffered from Sandy's wrath, BTW.
