I think it’s a system designed to give rural people too much power over urban dwellers.
But it doesn’t much matter what I think about that or the filibuster which gives too much power to the minority.
But I’m getting too old and my will to fight is nearly gone.
Our young will decide with their votes or their apathy where the country goes.
Have a good evening.

When the Constitution was written there wasn't a "rural/urban divide"; most cities still had marginal populations. It was a facet of the history of the former British colonies: different sizes and populations depending on the Royal Charters granted, which came out of the Revolutionary war as confederated independent States. The desire to integrate them into a single nation (following the failure of the Articles of Confederation) led to the development of a State-based (rather than population-based) Senate as a way to give lower population States incentive to join.

While California, with 39.4 million people (67 times Wyoming population), gets the same representation.

There were 200,579 registered Republicans as of July 1 compared to 43,285 Democrats, for a split of about 71% to 15%.

Unaffiliated (34,925), Libertarian and Constitution Party (3,418) voters together make up the remaining amount.

That’s a huge swing from 1968, which is the earliest election-year archive available on the Wyoming Secretary of State’s website. In that year, registered Republicans made up 44.7% of the rolls, compared to a Democratic presence of 39.5%.

Unaffiliated voters haven’t boomed or busted drastically throughout those decades, starting at 15.9% in 1968 and ending at 12.4% this month.

There are some places where Team Donkey is not going to make serious inroads. Wyoming is one of those places. Aside from maybe Laramie and a couple of resort towns, Wyoming looks hopeless. And to be cruel, they got the sort of leadership they want.

In one cycle they’ve gone from having a potential House speaker to being an orange ass kissing fly over. Sure, some of them may be rewarded in a small way going forward, but, Trump (and the GrOPpers) have a history of ignoring and exploiting the sure things.

I know the people at Midas Touch have implied a similar thesis during the 2020 campaign.

I noticed the trend much earlier in the cray-cray era, however. Back during the steaks and university grifts. Unfortunately, I have a friend who falls for every con that bumbles down the pike. So I have been singing this song since the friend tried to get me to join the Trump Cell Phone MLM. (Multi Level Marketing, AKA Pyramid scheme)

Those of us who learn by observation end up saying, “No! Wait! Stop!… Awwww!” Quite a bit.

Cheney was actively asking Democrats to re register Republican to support her in the primary, and many did. I saw on MSNBC last night that Democratic registration dropped by around ten thousand over the prior year.

Of course, even if you presume 10K Democrats strategically re-registered Republican to vote in that Congressional primary, Wyoming is still ridiculously Red.
