I instantly knew overturning Roe would awaken the slumbering American.
There are a few things in life that will wake up the American people. One of them is taking away a right they have had their entire lives. Especially a right that can save their lives.
You cannot take away rights from the American people. Kansas is just the beginning of what is going to happen in November. The Democrats are going to run on this issue big time. There are going to be months of brutal political ads showing the horrors of overturning Roe. Women and men are already organizing across the country against this crime against the people. Like I have been saying, out of control extremism always destroys itself in the end. As Admiral Yamamoto once said, " I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve"

Republicans get abortions too. They overplayed it. Deeply unpopular. Stupid really.
It’s a helluva thing to put women through only to lose your ass come election time. I hope the women currently suffering because of the law will feel vindicated when the midterm results are in. With a larger majority in the Senate we can remake the Supreme Court. Badly done GOP. Suck it up and take your losses. |

3. Come on .......
these red states are treating women and girls like a piece of meat. No rights whatsoever concerning their bodies nor their life. The red states are pro-rape and pro-incest. Women and girls will be put in jails and camps for forced births, as well as convicted of murder even if she has a miscarriage. Bounties, arrest at borders, et al.

14. Yamamoto probably didn't say it
But he certainly had thoughts similar to it, 'cuz he was totally against the operation at Pearl Harbor (even though tactically he pulled it off brilliantly). He was no dummy, and he knew how Americans reacted to the Maine and the Lusitania.

Freedom of religion is also a right. So don't tell me how to live my life.
It looks like the Christofascist are in for a surprise. The extreme court f,ed up on this one. |

The GOP has lost Senior Citizens by 12 points. Abortion and Social Security will create Obama era numbers. |

10. Agree!
And here's the Earthquake part, this was polling as a tossup in Kansas, maybe even a few point lead for Yes. "No" won by 17.6%!!!
That is as big of a polling miss as I've ever seen. Most of the polls on this were off by 20 points! Pollsters right now are throwing out their current turnout models, they don't know what to think now. Dems must run on this everywhere! Here in MI it will be easy since it's a ballot initiative, but every candidate across this country needs to make it clear that women's body autonomy is on the ballot. |

15. If we could just get Joe Manchin and Krysten to actually play for the team that they claim to be on
Democrats could sweep state local and federal elections November 2022 easy
I mean besides threatening to take away all of our rights, what exactly what exactly are the republicans good for? They're literally the PRO-SLAVERY since 1776 it shouldn't be that hard to beat these assholes Maybe if we all sent those 2 idiots 50 cents each they'll stop taking money from places that go against what's best for the country |

16. Oh for cryin' out loud. WE ALL DID. However, it took the efforts, courage and determination of WOMEN
to bring the issue to the very front of the GOP's many assaults on our rights.
You forgot to mention that specifically. The efforts and volume of complaints by American men has been a bit underwhelming. |

19. Well, the prior ongoing debate of "pro choice vs. anti abortion" was theoretical
until SCOTUS slammed it into oblivion in June by the overturn of Roe - "settled law" so-called for nearly 50 years scuttled at the whim and fancy of the authoritarian Court. It wasn't something that reached out and snatched people up by the short and curlies until it did. It became a reality in many states and a fearful possibility for those in other states as well, with rethug christofascists slavering and falling all over themselves trying to race each other to enact new and ever more draconian measures on statewide ballots.
Choice is not just a woman's issue. It's a man's issue too. And if isn't, it ought to be. Women don't get pregnant through immaculate conception or by self-propagation and more and more babies being born unwanted and a burden on families - many of whom rely on both partners working to pay the bills - and struggling with the cost of raising yet another mouth to feed and juggling childcare needs is an evil burden perpetuated by the wealthy so-called legislators that want nothing more than to break the backs of working women and men. |

22. Hold on. The issue this moment is AFTER SCOTUS reversed Roe vs Wade. I didn't hear
a lot of resistance to the pending trigger laws that were already in place in so many Red states.
""Women don't get pregnant through immaculate conception or by self-propagation. "" Really? I Didn't KNOW that! ![]() |

28. Because it hadn't happened. Even with the "trigger" laws, the Court hadn't overturned it
until they did. I believe a lot of people just didn't think it would/could happen. Which did make it theoretical, a possibility, not a reality. Of course individual states had enacted anti-choice legislation, but it was for those people, not all people. I don't think the majority of people actually believed it would be struck down with threats of more and more supposedly settled constitutional rights being stripped away from people with more threats looming. It became a stark reality. And it became infuriating.

30. My point was, and inline with what you wrote, that overturning RvW appeared so unlikely given the
polling that we ALL KNEW there would be tremendous backlash - more like WHIPLASH!
One would have to be a political idiot to not recognize that an incredibly strong response was coming. We all KNEW the decision was going to be a big motivator and Dem politicians also capitalized on it for fundraising. My surprise was how little of a reaction was from men. It was the WOMEN who made MOST of the noise. Hilary, not Bill Nancy Pelosi, not Paul AOC, not her fiance. Elizabeth Warren,. not her S.O. Tammy Baldwin, not her hubby. We don't even know his name. Same with Kirsten Gillibrand, where was her husband?? I'm done with this, and besides, your points are kind of going in circles. |

but it's hard to trust the voters. Happy to see this in red Kansas. It does appear to be the case in Michigan though. We have some real MAGA repubs running here and a proposal to overturn the 1931 law keeping abortion illegal on the ballot in November.
