Anyone who thought John Fetterman's campaign was off the mark, not professional or policy-laden enough or any of the other criticisms leveled at the man, should take the following poll into consideration. Because those of us who live in PA, know that this fight is a do or die moment.
And John Fetterman? He's killing the opposition.
Fetterman: 52% (14+)
vs
Oz: 38%

(48,014 posts)Reversion to the mean will make a tighter race. Oz can't slip but another 2-4 points and he will bounce. Campaigns are like that.

(11,541 posts)Still, I am impressed with this polling in the dog-days of summer. I love Fetterman's campaign reaching out with humor and heart, reaching out to everyone, the whole every county, every vote approach.
As for Oz?
He's just a bad, deeply unpopular candidate. Republican leadership has noticed that as well.
See what happens.

(25,728 posts)Fetterman's margin will grow. I was hoping that Oz would get the nomination, he has dozens of skeletons in his closet. He fucking joined the Turkish military to keep his Turkish citizenship.
I am from Pa. and I predicted that there would be Magats who vote for Fetterman.
I live in central Pa. and have seen a lot of Mastriano signs and have seen only 1 Oz sign, and this is in Trump country.

(19,373 posts)How the hell did that happen? I was replying to the Alex Jones thread and it ended up in the Fetterman post.
Either my mind is completely shot or something weird just happened on DU.
I'll delete it. Thanks for letting me know.

(11,541 posts)As Lt Governor, John Fetterman led the Pardons' Review Board and was a strong advocate for reviewing the records of lifers in PA, and then recommending pardons for worthy petitioners, those who had exemplary records while imprisoned and received life-without-parole sentences. It's a Second Chance program.
Oz attempts to make it sound as if Fetterman approves of opening every cell door and permitting violent, vicious criminals to walk free throughout the state. Because fear-mongering is the Republican strong suit.
They've also tried to attach Fetterman to Larry Krasner, the progressive, controversial Philly DA. The right hates Krasner's progressive stance on criminal justice and the Fraternal Order hates the man as well. Oz and his campaign wrangled a baker's dozen of PA Sheriffs calling on Fetterman to clarify his position on criminal justice reform which they have described as 'crazy and dangerous.'
Will it work? Will it chip away at John Fetterman's lead?
So far it has not. But we shall see.
This is going to get ugly.

(11,541 posts)Trump was solidly behind Oz in the primary, even when his supporters were not. In fact, I listened to one Trump supporter say that Trump's advisors were to blame and that Donnie had simply been ill-advised.
Because Donald Trump is never accountable.
Oz's unfavorables are in the high 50s. He just hasn't caught on, at least not yet. Fetterman's trolling has turned the man into a punch line again and again and again.
Never a good thing during an election. Or life in general.
I've read that The Former guy has groused about how bad a campaigner Oz is. If he thinks Oz has no chance, he'll cut him loose.

Have to admit, as someone who grew up in "Huntingdon" and had to explain that it wasn't "Huntingdon Valley," this bugs me.
There is no "Huntington Valley, Pa."
There is only "Huntingdon Valley, Pa."

Will it be tight? Probably.
In a normal world, Warnock would be 30 pts ahead. But that's not the world we're a-living and it's Georgia.

(25,728 posts)there are no Oz signs, plenty of Mastriano signs. People need to get behind Shapiro because Mastriano has a ton of money backing him.
peggysue2
(11,541 posts)According to the latest Fox poll, Shapiro is up 10 pts; Beacon has the man up 13. Shapiro's campaign has reportedly raised $25.5 million with $13.5 million cash on hand. Mastriano is far behind in the money department. Doesn't mean he can't or won't catch up. But right now? He's lagging behind, badly.
