MAPLETON, Iowa (AP) -- An Iowa woman convicted of dumping 23 dead or dying dogs in a south-central Nebraska cornfield in 2008 has been found with more dogs during a probation compliance check.
The Monona County Sheriff's Office says deputies checking up on Denise Withee of Mapleton found 13 dogs at the home she shares with her mother -- a violation of Withee's Nebraska probation.
Deputies on Thursday ticketed Withee and her mother on suspicion of animal cruelty.
