I am having hard time fixing breakfast, even finishing my coffee

My stomach is in knots.

I was half reading half listening to CBS Face the Nation with a horrible description of famine and death in South Sudan. I was not watching! Then came a commercial for... the local grocery promoting picnic salads for the Fourth! That's when the knot came. The next segment was about the high maternal mortality in this country, the highest in the world, and whether abortion may come into this and... I just turned it off.

Yes many of us are not sleeping soundly.

And many more are not going to eat a decent meal.

Not the highest in the world among ALL countries.

Also, that's an average ... there's a buncha shithole States, mostly in the South, that raise the average significantly for the country as a whole.

Lots of US States have very, very low maternal mortality rates.

They're almost all Blue, of course.

Anyways, hope you feel better soon

I have no desire to celebrate the 4th at all.

I am focusing on GOTV in Nov. 2022 for my local & state candidates here in Georgia.

Take care of yourself. Maybe take a TV news break. 🤗

by people who have zero empathy & compassion. People driven by a lust for power & not service to the greater good. And they do it with such self-righteousness it's nauseating. The number of truly loathsome people in congress & in our courts is alarming & growing. It can be overwhelming.

So, if the weather's nice, go outside for a bit.

And when you get back, you can check out these Get Out The Vote resources.
