But I think we're missing the bigger picture here.

Who goes to that place for the food?

I've been dragged there twice. Outvoted. I'll admit to not objecting strongly. The food was horrrrible. Like amazingly bad.

If I ever get dragged there again, I'll order the smallest cheapest nothing I can socially getaway with and probably not even have a bite.

Back in the 90s with other guys from corporate. We were all staying in Gwinnett County for one reason or another.
I wanted to hit a BBQ joint, but got outvoted.
My "review" matches.
Later that week, they all planned to go back. I went to the rib joint alone.

...we like certain wings on the menu.

But we've seen entire family's there, not just dad, mom and son, but daughter as well.

Its not like the waitresses dress any more provocatively than just about any other sports bar in any small town or big city in America. Who cares?

Drag shows vs. Hooters? Which is "grooming" or "sexualizing" children? Fair is fair.

There's a phenomenon that occurs at these places that cracks me up when I think about it. It's very interesting to observe.

Men of all ages sitting alone at the bar, or sitting at a table drinking pitchers of beer with their pals.

There's certain postures and/or facial expressions that some men take on as they get more and more intoxicated while a scantily clad women fawn over them and pay attention to them.

Their behaviors give one the impression that they are thinking that they have a chance of taking one of these waitresses home.

Kind of hard to explain what I am talking about here, but some people will understand my point.

To me, it's both sad and hilarious at the same time.

The women who work in these places are just doing their job. The establishment has a theme, and the women are merely promoting that theme. They are earning a living.

I'm pretty sure I've seen some men fall in drunken love in 10 minutes with a Hooter's waitress, just because they were smiled at and spoken to.

Hooters, Twin Peaks, Tilted Kilt, Wing House - they're all the same.

The savvy waitress knows (as does the savvy stripper) that all a guy in a place like that really wants is to be made to believe a beautiful young woman finds him attractive.

It's that simple.

Make the guy feel as if he is the hottest thing on wheels for an hour or two and he will (often) empty his wallet for her. Particularly if he is a generally lonely type or in a relationship where he isn't made to feel that way.

Also, all those places something in common;
Pretty girls and cold beer. Two things that just don't go out of style.

We were sitting at a little round table. I was sober because I was driving, so I was sipping on a soft drink.

He was blasted...really in his cups.

One of the strippers came up to us to make conversation, as they do in these types of places.

My fucking dumb ass buddy put his hands on her.

I immediately grabbed him by the collar and dragged his ass out of there, because I knew a bouncer was about to beat the shit out of him.

I literally had to drag him while fending off an angry bouncer by putting my hand up and saying "It's alright, I got him. We're out of here".

Pissed me off, because he knows better. We didn't speak for awhile after that.

Business lunch and someone suggested Hooters. York PA if memory serves. Not a lot of drinking at my table but the actions were as you described. The waitresses were attractive no doubt but I laughed at all the flirting that was going on. The food was, eh.

Pretty girls that “peaked in High School” types never stopped lusting after are placed in a subservient role for dirty old men. These man children snicker as the waitress who is the same age as their daughter(s) fake-flirts with them to feed their egos and get tips. Then, as they get drunker, they think the waitresses actually want to date them.

Just like strippers - it’s a good way to make money off losers.
