This is what we have been predicting would happen. But still, holding a little tiny fragment of hope that his cumupance would be in play long before this time came.
Didn't dream the SCOTUS 6 would actually be more evil than we had imagined, but there it is.
It is still beyond belief.
Despite years of heading this direction and lots of literary warnings and world history. Just really didn't think things would go this far off the rails here.
one optimistic note, is that it appears that polls seem to be refelecting an upward swing for Dems running for various offices.
xing fingers to hang a little hope onto.

(7,271 posts)none of this is clear to me right now. The agony of waiting to see what happens is something I haven't quite mastered enduring.

(9,470 posts)I think the small-fingered vulgarian is probably the best we could hope for. He isn't any more dangerous than DeSantis, and will likely be more incompetent.

(7,271 posts)It's rare these days, but occassionally when I click on even my local weather report on Haystack,it rolls into national economic news from bloomberg or CNBC other with pundits spewing bullshit spin against Biden... click off rapidly.
it's sickening and demoralizing. We have had and continue to have a muliti front battle cconstantly.
It's a wonder we even have a Democratic President sometimes. Except for one thing, there really are more of us than there are of them. If we get counted we win.

(32,075 posts)So far, he has gotten away with hiding his assets offshore and under bankruptcy. This will blow up in his face, hopefully sooner rather than later.

(2,252 posts)As has been said so many times, the mid-terms will make or break democracy. Maintain a Dem majority in the House, gain an effective Dem majority in the Senate, forget compromise, then get mean and ugly with the f'n Republicans and take a cannon to the gunfight...
Protests, polls, opinions, empty threats, undoable promises, unworkable political strategies will not save the country from the radical right. Ditch the filibuster, add 4 liberals to SCOTUS, codify Roe, pass some fucking voting and election laws that keep the playing field level for everybody.
I don't really give two shits about politics...but what I expect from politicians is loyalty to the Constitution and majority rule.
