(94,489 posts)...because its not possible, practically speaking. The very non-representative elements you want to change are the reason it won't get changed. You will not get 38 States to agree to give up the Electoral College or the Senate or whatever other ideas you have.

Even basic stuff, such as the process for amending the Constitution, seems to be a mystery to a lot of people.
The Constitution was written on four sheets of parchment. Its not a long or difficult read, but few bother.
Having majority control of the House, Senate and Presidency is not sufficient for amending the Constitution.
