Twitter board endorses Elon Musk takeover, urges investors to vote in favor of the deal
Tim Levin 4 hours ago
Tesla billionaire Elon Musk is one step closer to owning Twitter.
The social media giant's board of directors on Tuesday recommended that its shareholders vote in favor of the proposed $44 billion sale, according to a regulatory filing.
The board unanimously "determined that the merger agreement is advisable and the merger and the other transactions contemplated by the merger agreement are fair to, advisable and in the best interests of Twitter and its stockholders," it said in a proxy filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Twitter has not yet set a date for the vote.

(5,443 posts)Over the long-term Twitter is worth more-- it already hit higher prices than the offer last fall. Why give up say 200% returns in a year or two for 30% today?

(31,946 posts)The agreed price was $54.20 a share. The Twitter board agreed to give him the information he wanted about bots. Whether that will satisfy him remains to be seen.

(17,862 posts)It is currently trading $16 less than offer price (30% less). That doesn't sound like the deal is firm.
Why can't liberal and not crazy conservatives deplatform the first time Trump lies or calls for violence? Do it in a coordinated fashion with some alternative platform available. Urge followers to join them on the new platform.
Turn Musk's $44B into coal.
