Attention President Biden and members of the Democratic party.
I hope going forward you are prepared to govern the country on your own. You will get no help from the other major party whatever that may be at this point. Calls and dreams for bipartisanship are wasting time yours and ours. Calls for "bringing the country together" will happen when you do what is correct because that is what MOST people want and need. The other part of the population who are politically and socially corrupted by MAGA crap and fox entertainment do not and should not be a concern going forward. Most importantly do not apologize for leaving them behind.

1. The only one talking about bipartisanship is Manchin. It's the excuse du jour for anything his
Owners have paid him to vote against. It’s why we can’t have filibuster reform or get a fucking thing passed to help people who most need.

2. Biden ran on bipartisanship.
Many people here were clear that Sanders shouldn't be President because he wouldn't be able to work across the aisle.

3. They were correct.
Last edited Thu Jun 2, 2022, 10:37 AM - Edit history (1) When you run a major campaign without a mere thought nor mention of the dire looming crisis of losing our SC to a christofascist RW majority, then the high risk of such a choice was loud & clear.

6. So I'm sure you can give me an extensive list of Biden's bipartisanship accomplishments.
And we lost the SC before the Biden primary.

13. Yes, we did lose the SC in the 1st national campaign he ran.
So why trust that lack of forethought yet again, to pull us out of the pit of hell Trump buried us in.
We needed the years of domestic & foreign affairs experience that only Joe Biden brought to the table. |

5. Oh for fucks sake. The RAPEUBLICONS are NOT interested in governing.
They killed a million people with COVID. They voted NO FOR BABY FORMULA. Who the fuck does that? Republicans all voted no to stopping oil companies from raping our bank accounts. They will do NOTHING after 19 children had their faces blown off by a weapon of war. They have gleefully supported and passed laws to ensure the proliferation of these weapons. They’re only Interested in money power and death. These people have destroyed the planet, our society and anything decent in this country. It’s not Bernie fucking Sanders.

8. I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't vote for sanders but I knew cons were cons
And I’ve known that for decades. So thanks. Maybe you can move on from two elections ago though because we’re a little busy trying to save democracy now.

9. One election ago. And the topic of the OP is that Biden shouldn't try bipartisanship.
I'm saying Biden ran on being able to work across the aisle. I don't think it's hard to keep up with what I'm saying, but YMMV.

12. Oh, nice one.
So, I'm either 100% happy with what is going on, or I'm pushing Republican talking points. Got it. Except that's a pretty shitty take and feels like the cult of never speak ill of Donald Trump. But, hey, you do you.

10. I don't think they know how!
Seems like many even in their own party missed the fact that the first two years of the Trump administration they had the WH, House AND Senate and got virtually nothing done. They did get a lot of wingnut Federal judges seated which is my biggest worry but they could have done even more damage had they worked together and legislated. All the talk about repealing Obamacare and replacing it with a "better" plan and a host of other things they could have had vote ready between the time Trump was elected and the day he was sworn in and even for the next two years...virtually zippo.

14. Those lies told by trump like the best healthcare etc.
is what helped trump get elected. They know Democratic ideas were popular hence the lies. Most democrats knew it was all lip service but republicans because they were told to hate Hillary fell for it.
