General Discussion

On the Today show this morning, they had an interview with the Governor of CT. He was discussing the damage to his state and the emergency response so far. Nothing political.
Then they flashed his name on the banner of the screen. It said "Daniel Malloy" and underneath it read "D-CT"
My question is when something is being discussed without any politics in mind, is the "D" moniker appropriate?

(13,218 posts)First, it is protocol to mention a politician's affiliation and title. Second Obama often does things in a statesman-like (party-free) manner. Which I consider non-political. P.S. Romney never does.
