So Mitch is collecting canned goods in Ohio that he plans to give to the Red Cross . . . . .

. . . . . and the Red Cross is saying "thanks but no thanks" because they can't deal with such small, mixed lot donations.

Mitch is just plain full of shit.

I love that the talking heads are saying they're not questioning Mitch's motives. Yeah. Sure. Right. Mister Fucking Altruism, that's Mitch. Sure. Uhuh.

WTF? I have no training in business or finance, but even I know his idea is a logistical trainwreck. It is financially irresponsible to spend money on both purchasing AND transporting goods when the money can be sent electronically to the places required and the transportation costs are thus drastically reduced. Anyone who actually thinks about this will realize he just wants his photo-op.

It must be physically transported to the disaster area. Then there is the problem of distribution to the people in need.

Cash donations are what is needed. It can be instantly wire-transfered to the disaster area. It then can be used to buy necessary items there, or distributed directly to victims.
