Like the freeper reaction thread where they were pissing and moaning.. asking why o why couldn't Christie have just said. "..the federal gov is doing everything they can"..

I guess the same could be asked by freepers about Christie's reaction to mitt touring with him..

Fox News co-host Steve Doocy wondered when Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was going to get some of the same benefits from the hurricane with a photo op in disaster-stricken New Jersey towns.

“Over the last couple of months, you have appeared throughout the country, Governor, on behalf of Mitt Romney,” Doocy remarked to Christie. “[W]e hear that perhaps Mr. Romney may do some storm-related events. Is there any possibility that Gov. Romney may go to New Jersey to tour some of the damage with you?”

“I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested,” Christie replied, immediately shutting down the idea. “I’ve got a job to do here in New Jersey that’s much bigger than presidential politics and I could [sic] care less about any of that stuff.”

I disagree with many of his posistions but I think he knows BS when he sees it and Mitt Romney is full of BS.

Obama is the real deal. He is getting praise from all the Govs during this crisis, both Dem and Repub.

Honestly, Govs Malloy and Christie both handled this hurricane well. They implied a sense of urgency and gave very stern warnings to evacuate.

I don't think he is buying the idiocy from the right about how Mitt has a real chance at winning, much less potentially has it in the bag. He's getting first in line for the Federal gravy train. You know he's used to getting first in that line... :-D Ah, so easy.

I check this site several times a day: http://election.princeton.edu/ I think Sam has the best analysis of ANY (he's a biophysics and neuroscience prof at Princeton who has a passion for statistics - nuff said) and in the past few days it's been trending stronger and stronger for Obama.

but I'd like to believe it is. It does appear that Christie is hoping for an opening and he's taking care of business to place this high on his resume of credentials for his run in 2016 (he might consider a little Weight Watchers while he's at it but I wouldn't want to give up the linuine con vongole myself, either!).

So a Republican Governor gives a mild compliment of appreciation to a Democratic President. Basically just being polite.

Nowadays though this will set every daytime talk hate radio jock's hair on fire.

He's hedging his bets. Of course if, between voter suppression, machine manipulation, misleading phone calls, and an increasing avalanche of lies....Mitt actually steals the victory...all will be forgiven.

He's also not a moron - he'll do a better job to position himself as an economic centrist who will work with Dems. Note also that he hasn't asked for anything, so he can still credibly take anti-federal assistance positions.
