Who is this Thomas Peterffy guy running these tiresome socialism ads?

if you haven't seen it (dislike please)

All of a sudden this guy is on my TV constantly talking about how President Obama is turning America into Socialist Hungary. Who is he and why is a Hungarian spending so much of his own money on our elections?

According to his bio it says he left Hungary to escape Communism before the age of 18 and as far as I can tell has had nothing to with it since then. I would hardly call him an expert on Socialism.

Thankfully the only place I've seen this douche is on TV, and that is easier for me to turn off than the internet. I do seem to see a disproportionate amount of other Republican ads online though. I wonder why they spend so much on the internet knowing the youth vote is lost on them.

... that fucker grew up in Communist Hungary, not socialist Norway, Sweden, or Germany.

He's a fucking lying rightwingnut, and I've called him that on several FB pages and newspaper blogs.

Won't do any good, I know. Beck and the other assholes have the suckers convinced that Socialism, Communism, and Nazism are all the same.

Even if Obama wins... this country is well and truly fucked.

Super interesting things there.

By the summer of 1948, the Communists had dropped all pretense of democracy. The Social Democratic Party effectively ceased to exist as an independent organization, and Social Democratic leader Béla Kovács was arrested and sent to Siberia. Other opposition leaders such as Anna Kéthly, Ferenc Nagy and István Szabó were imprisoned or sent into exile

This guy is a lying sack of shit!

On edit: The more rich people complain, I think more people will start to say, "Oh, just F**k-off." It gets tiresome to hear people who shouldn't have a care in the world whine.

pop=soda

I've seen this ad about 20 times and I really don't like it.

As if Obama is even remotely close to socialism. And as if cold war Hungary was even socialism(depends how you define it).

We should start referring to election season as capitalist propaganda season.

dude. The way his commercial comes across, its as if he was some common guy they found walking down the street and asked him to do a political ad. Its a deceptive ad for sure. No wonder he is spending his money on this, he knows Romney will take care of him as a fellow rich dude and not raise his taxes. What a greedy little jerk.

Possibly lifted from photos taken during the Hungarian revolt against the USSR in the 1950s. Guess that's the ad's implication, that all Americans under Obama will soon be in rags, rich and poor alike. As if Soviet-bloc communism had anything to do with socialism.

All cons, this Peterffy bozo included, want to frame this manufactured issue as an attack on "being successful," which is pure horseflop. All sane people are asking is that the mega-wealthy give just a little bit more back to the very country that enabled them to amass such vast wealth -- like they paid under Eisenhower, Nixon and even Saint Reagan.

And meanwhile, teabagger-types are still grinding on about welfare and food stamps. What blind cattle they are.

The very rich are doing VERY well in this country, and yet they want more tax breaks and whine that they still don't have enough.

They are having a feast and want to make sure the poor don't dare even have a crumb that falls from the table.
