An ex-captain in the Houston Police Department was arrested for allegedly running a man off the road and assaulting him in an attempt to prove a bizarre voter-fraud conspiracy pushed by a right-wing organization.
The suspect, Mark Anthony Aguirre, told police he was part of a group of private citizens investigating claims of the massive fraud allegedly funded by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and involving election ballots forged by Hispanic children. He said the plot was underway in Harris County, Texas, prior to the Nov. 3 election.
Aguirre said he was working for the group Liberty Center for God and Country when, on Oct. 19, he pulled a gun on a man who he believed was the mastermind of the scheme. His victim, identified as "DL" in the police affidavit, is an air-conditioner repairman. Authorities found no evidence that he was involved in any fraud scheme claimed by Aguirre.

(6,090 posts)mail in ballots for everything. Stay home and keep your gun there.
Mr.Bill
(24,906 posts)That's probably why the republicans are working so hard to make everyone think that all mail-in votes are fraudulent. One of the biggest lies they are using.

(28,741 posts)Pa. passed a law making no excuse absentee ballots illegal. I sent my application in long ago, it is sitting in my county election office waiting on the Pa. Supreme Court to rule on the law. The SC was supposed to have made a ruling 3 weeks ago. Pa. primary is may 17th.
I don't worry about guns at polling sites, I worry about Magat election officials failing to certify the winning candidate. Democrats better be ready. Republicans learned from coup 1.0, don't wait to steal the election, do it at the local level.
The insurrection didn't stop on 1/6, it is on going.

A Harris County grand jury has indicted Hotze for charges of unlawful restraint and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to his attorney, Gary Polland.
The former police officer whom Hotze hired, Mark Aguirre, was indicted on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon late last year. Terry Yates, who represents Aguirre, said he has been re-indicted on the same charges as Hotze......
Even after Aguirres indictment, the organization has sought donations for more investigations. Hotze hosted a Freedom Gala fundraiser April 2 in Houston with Attorney General Ken Paxton and Mike Lindell, the MyPillow executive who has pushed former President Donald Trumps lie that the 2020 election was stolen.
