This bugs me, sorry. If you are going to cut and paste an article, you should at least have the wherewithal to give your opinion on the article you just posted. I don't mean, wow, isn't that terrible, kind of opinion.
All of the time, people cut and paste articles from right wing rags like The Hill, or Business Insider, who push right wing narratives.
I guess this gives them an out for not getting a hide for pushing right wing talking points since they post right wing talking points and then a short, isn't that awful statement. I am not trying to tell anyone what to post, it's good to know the awful things that Magats are pushing, maybe I'm off base here, if so, I apologize.

(38,958 posts)Sorry if that bothers you. I believe those that choose to read the post are capable of forming their own opinions without my comments and I prefer a post with some detail to it beyond who tweeted an opinion about what.
Please feel free to scroll past, trash thread the things I post or to put me on ignore so that what I put up doesnt bother you.

(21,313 posts)but I don't cut and paste right wing talking points from right wing rags.
The article that inspired this thread has been up for 2 days. I only clicked on it today to see how many responses, 60.
McCarthy says Russia 'probably' Wouldn't Have Invaded Ukraine if Biden Administration Had Sent Arms
What's next, cut and paste an article that asks, has president Biden stopped beating his wife yet?
Debating whether Russia would have invaded Ukraine had president Biden sent arms is giving a platform to right wing propaganda.

I would just scroll on or trashed the thread.

(7,281 posts)those posts.
Personally, I detest posts focusing on the latest tweet that tfg and/or his cult followers and acolytes saying, doing, tweeting,
WaPo and NYT OpEds with anti-Biden or Democratic Party threads are also "banned" from my personal reading list.
I don't know how to uphold that standard here though in terms of alerts.
I was kind of a fan of WaPo during tfg's reign of terror. But golly gee, their stripes changed back as soon as a DECENT Dem got elected.

Too long and preachy, so I only read a few lines.

(94,503 posts)The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) marked Tax Day on Monday by rolling out billboards in Florida and Wisconsin, hitting Republicans over Sen. Rick Scotts (R-Fla.) proposed plan to require all Americans to pay at least some income tax.
The billboards, which read Senate Republicans Plan: Raise Your Taxes, will be deployed in Orlando, Miami, and Oshkosh, Wis., near the offices of Sens. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.). Scott is the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and Rubio and Johnson are facing closely watched reelection bids.
If Senate Republicans have their way, hard-working Americans including seniors, families with children and individuals making less than $40,000 per year would all have to pay more when they file their taxes today, said DSCC spokesperson Nora Keefe.
The Tax Day billboards are the latest moves from the Senate Democrats to troll Scott over his plan, which was released in his own capacity. Senate Republicans have not released an official agenda.

Top Democrats and the White House are eyeing a revival of a stalled-out, tax-and-spending bill as the party tries to show deliverables to voters heading into a November election where they are facing tough political headwinds.
The hopes of reviving Build Back Betteralbeit, significantly altered and likely with a different namecomes after Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) deep-sixed a roughly $2 trillion, House-passed bill late last year. Since then theyve struggled with when, or how, to revive the issue with most of the political oxygen focused on a Supreme Court vacancy and Russias invasion of Ukraine.
But Democrats are signaling they want to turn back to the spending plan that was meant to be the center of a stalled legislative agenda after a current two-week break even as they face many of the same hurdles and intra-party tensions that plagued the 2021 talks.

(21,313 posts)you found 1 article from The Hill, the billboard article. The article about bringing back BBB was pretty depressing, especially the part where Sinema says her position on taxing the rich is not going to change.
Go back and look at the articles that John Solomon wrote for The Hill. It doesn't get any nastier, more ugly, than John Solomon.

(38,553 posts)that the poster is essentially posting a RW talking point to show how stupid such RW talking point is.
I'm not sure if I'm "guilty" of this particular "offense," but if I post something about RWers and don't comment on it, I guess I figure that after my 19 year presence here, people will know I'm not advocating RW views.

(511 posts)Thats why I come here on a regular basis, to see what my fellow Democrats are talking about. By checking out the comments, I learn more from people actually talking about the post under discussion. I know some people dont agree with the post, but I find it very distracting that there are those who attack the person who posted it, rather than the post itself. Its very disheartening, and sometimes cruel and unfair. When you attack the person, I think thats hateful, but when you attack the post, that, I believe, is helpful, because it helps a lot of people make up their mind about the subject under discussion.
I think thats one reason some people just post something without giving an opinion. The other reason may be that they dont want to taint the post, but want to see what people here think, sometimes because they came across this article and didnt know what to think about it or wanted to verify their own thoughts.
That happened to me. I posted an article I came across that was way out there on the left to see what people here at DU thought about it, asking at the end of the post, What do you think? Some people responded to the post with a discussion of the subject matter, but more than half of the comments were attacks on me, calling me a troll or Russian or some kind of Repug plant. In reality, Im none of those things, just someone who honestly wanted to figure out if the ideas proposed in the post was a good idea or not. And those attacks bothered me for days; made me never want to post anything here ever again.
Now, my other posts did well, though, granted, I dont have all those numbers behind my name like so many have here, and Im not as good at posting as some of the people here who have been at it for years. As a matter of fact, it took me awhile to figure out the format. I also didnt know about this snip part, where you can cut some of the post down to get to the important part. I thought it was first four paragraphs and a referenced link. Period.
But heres the deal, I thought DU was about discussion, and I wanted to contribute, to join in, to be a part of this dynamic organization which I have always admired so much. And as I said at the first, I have learned so much here. I just wish some people here would cut the insults and stick to a little more reasonable discussion of the matters at hand.
