On one side... the idiotic conspiracy theory side prattles on about nonsense and the other side says nothing to see here, walk past this.
As usual, reality is usually somewhere in the middle.
What FACTS do we have?
Has any FACTUAL source confirmed ANYTHING?
From NYT:
People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity, the Times writes. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.
I'm not going to swallow anything fed to me by Tucker Carlson OR Politicus...
What do we KNOW?

I've followed this since Barr opened the investigation and I've not seen anything beyond that to date.

Like the Repair Paperwork when the laptop was dropped off... does the handwriting match HB? Is it signed?

(19,558 posts)Zero. Ignore Dunk Ass Rudy. That's all drama and complete bullshit. I admit my eye is jaundiced, but look at the sources and just think for a moment. If your eye doesn't at the very least twitch, I'm not sure I'd trust you to be unbiased.
This is just me, but I've followed this from day one. I'm not a person prone to knee jerk reactions.

(90,301 posts)... point of probable cause to even think there was some wrong doing by HB.
They can't enter evidence from a stolen laptop so that whole issue is out the window
The rest outside of that is 100% conjecture even the "tossed gun" is not illegal cause there's no law against throwing away a gun !!!
I'm disgusted to no end the DOJ would be spending a milisecond on this bullshit

(94,293 posts)The verifiable emails are a small fraction of 217 gigabytes of data provided to The Post on a portable hard drive by Republican activist Jack Maxey. He said the contents of the portable drive originated from Hunter Bidens MacBook Pro, which Hunter reportedly dropped off at a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Del., in April 2019 and never reclaimed.
The vast majority of the data and most of the nearly 129,000 emails it contained could not be verified by either of the two security experts who reviewed the data for The Post. Neither found clear evidence of tampering in their examinations, but some of the records that might have helped verify contents were not available for analysis, they said. The Post was able in some instances to find documents from other sources that matched content on the laptop that the experts were not able to assess.
Among the reasons for the inconclusive findings was sloppy handling of the data, which damaged some records. The experts found the data had been repeatedly accessed and copied by people other than Hunter Biden over nearly three years. The MacBook itself is now in the hands of the FBI, which is investigating whether Hunter Biden properly reported income from business dealings.

(31,923 posts)Grand jury heard witness in February about past drug use, spending habits of presidents son
A federal tax investigation into Hunter Biden is gaining momentum as prosecutors gather information from several of his associates about the sources of his foreign income, including from Ukraine, and examine President Bidens sons relationship with a company that handled some of his finances, according to people familiar with the matter.
In recent weeks, prosecutors from the U.S. attorneys office in Delaware have sought information and grand-jury testimony about the money Mr. Biden received several years ago from Ukrainian natural-gas company Burisma Holdings Ltd., and how he used that money to pay some obligations, one of those people said.
Last month, prosecutors also extensively questioned at least one other associate of Hunter Biden about Mr. Bidens drug and alcohol use, spending habits and state of mind in 2018, another person said, suggesting prosecutors are exploring whether such activity would present a defense against a potential criminal tax case.
Prosecutors often seek to get such testimony on the record to secure it before the defense gets a chance to present it more favorably at trial. It doesnt necessarily mean an indictment is imminent, but it is indicative of trying to lock in testimony with an eye towards a potential trial someday, said former federal tax prosecutor Matt Mueller, of the law firm Fogarty Mueller Harris, who isnt involved in the investigation.

(90,301 posts)... and Garland.
DOJ ... CAN NOT ... enter stolen information or information DERIVED from stolen information into evidence.
There are no "tax implications" of anything from the IRS who doesn't have ANY data on whether HB cheated.
There are no gun violations, HB can legally discard guns the way he wants
This whole ISSUE is derived from Q bullshit and its hurtful to see the DOJ do ANYTHING with it.

In a recent interview, Mike Trimarco discusses the many copies of Hunter Biden's laptop that were being passed around by Giuliani and others in his orbit.
He also mentions that Tore Maras was able to obtain a copy, and confirms that Conan Hayes is on Patrick Byrne's "tech team"

The main thing this WaPo story confirms is people were right to question how Rudy got the laptop, and that WSJ, NYT, Fox, multiple NY Post reporters, and other media orgs were open to the story, but wouldnt just take Rudys word on the info, and thus were right not to publish it

@nickconfessore
"After the NY Post began publishing reports on the contents of the laptop in October 2020, [WaPo] repeatedly asked Giuliani and Republican strategist Stephen K. Bannon for a copy of the data to review before the election, but the requests were rebuffed." https://washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/03/30/hunter-biden-china-laptop/

(90,301 posts)We Know NOTHING !! The "laptop" was stolen so ***ANY*** information off of it can NOT be entered into evidence because there's no chain of custody back to HB.
FBI: "is this document yours"
HB: "I don't know, I don't have the laptop or the records"
Also there's a supposed "gun violation" which is bunk because HB can own a gun and throw it away in the garbage if he wants.
This is TEXT BOOK another Buttery Males stupid shit followed by the M$M to get ratings because it rates well on MAGA Media
