So Deb Fischer, (Senate Candidate R Nebraska) does the rapist get visiting rights?

Last edited Sun Oct 28, 2012, 07:11 PM - Edit history (2)

I hope y'all enjoy today's meme.

If you know some people in Nebraska copy it and send it to them! The Kerry/ Fischer race is now within the margin of error and the more people hear about this woman's politics, the better.

(WOOHOO!!! UPDATE: This DU post has got so many hits that the meme now shows up on page three of google images for deb fischer. Keep kicking peeps! maybe we can get it on the front page of google. :0) Hmmmmm...I think I'll add another meme. :0)

Does this woman realize that an abortion is safer than trying to have a live birth for a mother under fifteen? Does she even understand the number and size of the problems that a child trying to have a child faces?

What the hell is wrong with this woman.

unless what they really want is unwed (and wed) mothers others stuck on welfare...because that is what happens when you don't have sex ed, when you make it hard to get birth control and you outlaw abortions.

What are these people and governing bodies thinking? Empathy or lack of it is the thing, being able to put yourself in another human's situation. Sociopaths see other humans as nothing more than bugs, these people must too.

Not only must a woman raise the rapist's child, she has to spend 18 years with some further contact with the creep who violated her. Horrible for the woman and what about the child? One parent a rapist, the other would almost have to have some conflicting feelings about said child. This is a horrible situation, it gives me chills thinking about it.

visit "his" son this Friday. I'm sure he will be escorted by some penal official. You will explain
to little Johnny that this man had violent, non-consensual sex with you and that he is going to be in jail for the next 40 yrs because of that. Oh no, maybe you shouldn't tell him that yet.
You can wait until he is 21,then he will be old enough to understand who and what his biological father really is."

Note: I'm not trying to be flippant. I'm attempting to show how unfair, unwise and cruel a statute granting any rights at all to a convicted rapist would be. A rapist's child and all others close to him, would live a tormented life. The least the law could do would be to disallow any rights to the criminal. Such a statute would clearly be telling the rape victim that she , her body and embryo are the property of the Government to be dealt with in any manner they might decide. Could such injustice be happening in the U.S. in 2012?

I don't have a link though. But, apparently, there are some states where the rapist can still have parental rights. (a married man can rape his wife...)
