If Supreme Court Justices can decide cases based on their Christian religion perhaps...
... it should be expanded to include Justices of all religions. The list of unrepresented religions is very large but shouldn't they also have a vote if we allow Christians that privilege? By the way, I was raised as a Christian.

1. It will be a long time before an atheist ever gets on the Court or in the Senate

2. If I were an atheist, agnostic, humanist, ethical culturalist, Unitarian, etc., and
nominated for the USSC, I'd fall back on the classic "Deist" categorization. Good enough for Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, Paine, and other Founding Fathers.

3. I'd correct that to say an "avowed" atheist
It's clear from their behavior that a great many politicians who wear their "faith" on their sleeves are phonies. They aren't Christians as described by the Bible.
They don't care about the sick, the hungry or the homeless. They don't care about women, children, the handicapped or the poor. These are the people Jesus said must be taken care of to follow his teachings. These politicians use Christianity as a cudgel. they are not Christians. I write this as an avowed atheist and I'll bet I know more about what's in "The Good Book" than almost any one of the Republicans in Congress or the Senate. |

7. Quite true, I meant to say avowed
If you admit you are an atheist people move away from you like you’re gonna get struck by lightning

4. Plus, not just christian, but specifically
Catholic. There are now 7 Catholics on the SCOTUS, emphatically not reflective of the percentage of Catholics in the population of the country.
