1. That is for a Category 4 with 30 foot seawalls. Thankfully, Sandy is a CAT 1, with seawalls of

around 4 feet. Still very serious, but not as terrifying as that video.

9. With runaway anthropogenic global warming locked in by the current political climate

it will, someday.

May be palm trees on LI by then, but it will.

3. I really doubt that in this day and age, un-suspecting people are going to be walking

on the streets as hurricane hits. Unless they are living under a rock.

7. Really. My thought exactly.

Not to mention that people would not be sucked out of windows in a hurricane.
Someone obviously got tornadoes mixed up with hurricanes.

8. Yea. The animation showed a bunch of people walking around, completely un-aware a hurricane

was coming. How in the world is that possible at this day and age?
I understand thrill seekers might be out, but the animation showed regular citizens appearing to be clueless about upcoming hurricane.

13. Actually, there is an explanation for that.

Those are the same exact people ( look closely) who aimlessly walk around in every movie about New York being attacked by:
aliens
and/or
evil villain who is fighting the Avengers/Superman/Batman/etc
as vehicles are smashed/exploded/tossed around/burned 3 feet from them.
Yet, when the danger has passed, they all re-appear, from some apparently close by place,
to cheer and applaud the hero/demise of the enemy.

5. How climate change makes hurricane Sandy worse

A storm unlike any that meteorologists have ever seen is heading for the East Coast of the United States. We're hoping that it won't be so bad, but if it is, we'll know why.

The media is not doing a good job reporting this part of the story -- SHARE this and connect the dots between climate change and extreme weather, even if they won't!

15. Current trends are not this bad

But NYPD has bought row boats for this scenario.

Right now it looks midway to this, which is bad enough.

17. I tend to look at these things

With clinical detachment.

For shits and giggles look up what happens to the East Coast if the Azores falls to the sea causing a massive tsunami

Take my word, this is nothing.
