Seven days into the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it remains unclear how many casualties Russia has sustained.
The Ukrainian government said on March 2 the indicative number of Russias losses stands at 5,840 people. Russia has only admitted it had any losses four days after it started the war, and had not given any numbers.
But multiple videos and pictures from battlefields suggest that invading forces have sustained severe casualties.
And yet another piece of evidence obtained by the Kyiv Independent sheds more light on the fate of Russias 35th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade in Russias war in Ukraine.

(25,701 posts)say that Russia having 5,800 casualties is impossible because that would relate to 10's of thousands of wounded. According to former military officials there hasn't been enough fighting for that number to be accurate.

So their death count would be higher than normal?

(25,701 posts)the Russians just kill them. Fucking hard to believe. I doubt that will be good for morale.
I just try to keep a doubting Thomas kind of approach.

I wonder why the Russians brought mobile cremation units along. Could they be using them to burn their own casualties to hide the number of losses? Or Ukrainian losses?

(61,111 posts)He was telling his mother that RU wounded soldiers were being shot in the field. While wounded Ukrainian soldiers were being given medical care. He was very distraught about it.
Yes I don't know if it was real or not. And I only had the translation to go by, I don't speak Russian.
Since the Russians planned so poorly and assumed it would be a quick invasion, they probably don't have field hospitals or medical personnel or equipment. This is believable.
