God Bless PRESIDENT Joe Biden !!!
so to speak--- or whatever entity you believe in, or none at all...
MY President did as well as I hoped for tonight, and I have no criticisms. (It was a long speech which he may have fumbled in a few instances--- but his delivery was better than mine would have been, and I am 20 years younger...) I was pleasantly surprised, during the early part of the speech, to see so many Republican lawmakers on their feet-- trying to separate themselves from Trump and Tucker Carlson regarding the Russian offensive against Ukraine... STILL MY CHOICE for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination, if he presents himself. THE MAN FOR THIS MOMENT !!!!

1. I think that this was an average length. As for "fumbling" shows he is human

5. Who can speak for nearly an hour
without tripping over their words at some point? Only an automatom.
The substance is more important than the delivery... although the delivery was strong through the most important beginning of the speech... This is the leadership that I voted for, both in the primaries and in the general election. I might have been presumed to have supported Bernie again in the primaries--- but victory in the general election was most important to me, rather than worrying about "ideological purity" on any specific issues--- anyway, Joe was an old friend who I supported in 1988, and I always thought he was shafted over a very small one-time failure to attribute remarks which were not a direct quote. He never should have withdrawn from that race-- but glad he is here at this moment. ![]() |

2. +1. A few times I panicked thinking what if trump were giving the speech.

6. Trump gave a state-of-the-union speech, ever?
I must have had better things to do, if he ever did...

11. Actually I entered a sort of self-imposed "news blackout"-- after Drumph
managed to sneak into the office--- but I did see at least part of that particular SOTU address where Speaker Pelosi tore up her copy, at the end. What was in the speech, I now fail to recall, except it must have been full of Republican lies..
(the Republican lies made publicly are so constant and numerous, who can recall the particular lies spouted on one particular evening??) |

9. He did a pretty good job of recognizing people in the audience..
"personal stories"---
That is actually "Reaganesque", and was one of Reagan's strength, as far as "story-telling" which is a political strength vs. "facts and figures"--- because American voters are more emotional than logical. That is, what it is. |

4. I agree
Biden is competent, capable, and decent. He also has a long Senate history. We are in good hands.

12. He's got amazing composure. With all he's dealing with and constant criticism, so much riding
on SOTU speech, he was just himself, warm, presidential, authentic, and well spoken.
