I know it's no consolation today... but Russia will be different when the (Russian) boomers die off.

Without the 55+ crowd... Putin and the Russian Authoritarians have very little support

I think within 10-20 years, Russia is just another European country... just like Peter the Great wanted.

Are you counting people born before 1946? I just get tired of the facile boomer bashing. No generation is without fault, but it's disappointing to see such generalizations here. Was it boomers who elected Reagan or a combo of boomers and ww2 generation and those in the middle age wise ? I dunno..
But I guess you think it would best if we all just came to the end of the conveyor belt immediately if not sooner.
Talk to the Ukrainian feisty grandmother of sunflower seed fame.

Sorry, but these are difficult and emotional times. E pluribus unum and we are all part of the pluribus.

I'd doubt he'd retain power no matter how this shakes out beyond another few years, but...

BTW, if you think Trump supporters are all older and soon to be gone, just look at this from Pew Research:

The percentages from 18-29 and 30-49 are not that dramatically different between Dems & R's, so.... Stop blaming boomers for everything. . You just look uninformed. We need to educate our younger electorate for the future because some are obviously bamboozled by Trump et al.

Most of them can barely remember the communist regime. They've grown up with the internet, Western movies, music and culture. And a lot of them are fluent in several languages including English. How many American kids can speak Russian, by the way?

The younger Russian generation will change things dramatically once Pootie is gone. I'm just hoping Pootie doesn't destroy it for all of us before we get to that point.

They literally represent the desires of their (much older) Masters.

They've allowed him and the rest of the oligarchs to run the country as a kleptocracy for decades now, and that's been bad enough, but now the aging lunatic has turned the nation into a pariah. It's their own affair when they let the mob run their country, but it's quite another when they decide to attack innocent countries and try to pull them back into their clutches. Russia will pay a price for this invasion, but a lot might be forgiven if they deliver Putin's head to NATO.
