Florida House passes 15-week abortion ban 'to allow Florida to save as many babies as possible'

Members of the Florida House of Representatives approved a ban on abortion after 15 weeks on Thursday, making Florida the third state to advance a 15-week abortion plan. The decision comes ahead of the Supreme Court decision regarding the Mississippi law that has the ability to limit abortion rights across the country by overturning Roe v. Wade, the Associated Press reported.

Florida’s 15-week ban is modeled on that Mississippi law. The state’s GOP-controlled House passed the ban after several hours of debate in which Democrats argued the measure would create an undue burden on women.

Because of cause they did.

Not mad at you, Soph, just at this language. Words matter. And this is bullshit. I know these aren't your words.

IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

The Democratic Party needs to invest in places that are competitive, where they have a chance at winning, purple states like AZ & GA.

FL & TX look tantalizingly close, but they are not. We'll throw Millions into races there, and then end up losing by 4-10 points. Perhaps put some money into local races, but leave the Statewide & Federal races alone. The costs far outweigh any potential benefits.

They are merely forcing women to get their perfectly legal abortions in another state. You know, you got a car, you know how to drive and escape Florida. An immoral law is annoying but easily broken no matter how ignorant the corrupt Supreme Court is.

They are merely turning women into criminals for exercising their bodily autonomy and their constitutional rights.

And that fetus after 15 weeks can easily die. My wife almost lost her fetus and almost died from loss of blood because of plecenta previa and that was well after 15 weeks. Those fetuses can die and naturally abort even after 15 weeks. So no babies involved in that.

And fetuses aren't babies until they are born.

Bunch of ignorant christians forcing their stupidity, imaginary god and mythology onto everyone. Religion making everyday life miserable for everyone yet again.

They don't care about babies. They care about punishing women and keeping them "in their place".

I already do.

They won't stop abortions. They aren't trying to save babies, as evidenced by their denial of science, their refusal to act for the common good, and all the various other lacks - lack of healthcare, lack of paid maternity leave, lack of affordable daycare, etc..

They are seeking to control women. Nothing else.
