(24,399 posts)I'm surprised nobody is talking about a "Reverse Richie-Rich Effect"!
Besides, why would people be afraid to say they're not going to vote for Obama? After 4 years if being demonized by the right, I would think that it would almost be "chic" to hate/vote against Obama. This would also presume some kind of enthusiasm for Romney that, frankly, I don't see.

Indeed, it might be the ultimate sign of desperation, as we know that speculating about Bradley is really a form of wishing for it, which one would only do if one were losing, and knew it.

(224 posts)David Gregory answer that question saying: Well, the Romney team may have to worry about the "Mormon Effect".. I was shocked that he brought it up!

(4,219 posts)I was ready for the pile on and then they went the other way... Scar seemed very disappointed, he got all Billo on them and kinda got pouty and was like "well OK, but I'm just saying..." with a heavy sigh of whatever is behind those beady little eyes...
And did ChuckToad really need to do his entire bit with the huge cup of Starbucks in his right hand. I suppose it is/was some sort of contractual obligation but 'kin hell, it was distracting at best and ridiculous at worst.

(7,768 posts)He approached an older man sitting by himself at a table and asked if he could have his vote. "I would never vote for no Mormon...NEVER!" RMoney, taken aback, then asked "Well...can I shake your hand?" The guy crossed his arms, looked away and barked "NO!" The only thing he didn't do was spit on the floor!
I was surprised they aired it!

Now if those polls were reversed, we'd be hearing about the impending Willard landslide. They're in full projection mode now...

(26,060 posts)out in California (I think). An African American was ahead in the polls and wound up losing the race - it was said that people didn't want to admit they wouldn't vote for a black man but when they got into the voting booth...they went with the white guy. That's a rough picture of the Bradley effect.

(25,699 posts)The thing is though... Obama's already been elected. He clearly has plenty of support from whites, and almost overwhelming support from nonwhites, who are an ever-increasing influence on our elections.
Asking if the bradley effect will occur, is basically asking if suddenly white people have become more racist than they were in 2008. It's a fairly ridiculous question

(52,155 posts)about a Bradley effect. He is the one who would be a new first. The race I do worry about having such an effect is Wisconsin with Baldwin. Gays are where blacks were back in the 1980's when that effect was most pronounced.
