I often need image searches, or one of the other specialized searches that only come with other search engines.

It doesn't integrate with my "safe" web surfing notifier, so I don't get the little icons next to search results to warn when a site might be unsafe. If I'm doing a fairly blind search that risks bringing up a lot of unfamiliar and potentially risky websites, I don't like to use it. Maybe there is a way to integrate the safe search program into Scroogle, but I haven't explored that.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]Put your searches to work to benefit your choice of charity by using http://www.goodsearch.com/.

I have too many favorites, so I rotate them and change my designated charity every time I hit $20. It feels really good.

Google periodically denies them service by changing things or trying to identify their users as bots. Which they are not, but it seems a suppression of those who don't want to have their info with google forever for google to make money off of them.

Whenever google is screwing with scroogle I go to AltaVista. BTW, the name 'scroogle' is supposed to stand for 'screw google.'

They have articles about what google has been doing since I guess the 'do no harm' motto was dumped. Not pretty.

This scroogle page is my home page:

http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm

I suggest people give it a try if nothing else to escape the ads and go faster.

And as a test I looked for something that I wasn't able to find on google before and there it was on top of the page.
