NyQuil isn't a cure-all for omicron variant

According to a meme of actor Will Smith, the omicron variant of COVID-19 is easy to treat with common cold medicine.

Several Facebook users, including conservative politician Kimberly Klacik, shared a two-part image listing the “top five” omicron symptoms, which it says are runny nose, headache, fatigue, sneezing and sore throat. At the bottom of the picture is an image of Smith, pointing to a bottle of NyQuil, which lists those very symptoms.

“Will Smith has the prescription,” Klacik wrote.

“So… NyQuil was always the cure?” a commenter wrote on a similar post. “Better than the (vaccine emoji).”

I have to say this about NyQuil. When we worked on the road we couldn't afford to get sick, we would be shorting the crew. If we did get sick we had a sure fire remedy; buy a bottle of green NyQuil (must be green) take off the dispensing cap and throw it in the garbage, drink half the bottle and get in bed under the covers. After a nightlong sweat we were ready for work in the morning.

There was one case where one of our crew drank a whole bottle. (not recommended) He was a big guy.

You're still spreading it, you may still get sick enough to land in the hospital, but for milder cases...you may feel better.

People really should look up the definition of "cure" (not the OP, the covid-iots)

Especially not this.

I will say that it helps me a great deal to feel better and avoid secondary symptoms. I am prone to sinus infections so if I have clogged sinuses, it can turn a 4 day cold into a three week battle. I find a strong regimen of nyquil and guaifenesin helps keep me clear and vastly reduces the chance of sinusitis.

But that still doesn't make me a moron that will assume it replaces a vaccine.

Perhaps they know it gets under our skin, and amuses them to watch our credulous responses ... maybe they feel smarter by 'tricking' us into thinking they're stupid, when really they're just fucking with us?

Deep Thoughts ...

This is snark, if the disclaimer is necessary.

Look, I love NyQuil when I've got a cold or a touch of the flu. Not only does it kick the cold, it helps me sleep.

Covid-19 is not like a cold. Isn't that obvious?

I guess not if people will drink their urine, take horse de-wormers, inject bleach or stick a fluorescent light up their asses.

it was within 6 months of the expiration date and I didn't think I'd ever open it.

Hope he won't consider it a cure for Covid. I'd call him and warn him against that, but he wouldn't listen anyway.
