Obama won the debate, is closing strongly- let's not get sidetracked by smears/gossip/etc.

Last edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 07:06 AM - Edit history (1)

the rightwing and Trump would like nothing more than to take the conversation away from Mitt's horrible debate and focus on trash

let's not let him manipulate us like that.

Ignore him
No need to post 1000 trash posts and let's keep solely focused on the prize of winning the election.

remember, everytime someone posts a link to one of "THOSE" places, it gives THEM hope that they can distract and use the politics of demoralization which they always seem to do.

So let's not do that.

Let's just win.
by a million votes, by a landslide, by just one vote in the electoral. Matters little as long as we reelect Barack Obama44 and then work for winning more house/senate/governorships in 2014 and Democrat45 in 2016 so the dream lives on.
(I say 45 in 2016 to indicate #44 is staying right where he is for another four years! Woo Woo!

We need to phonebank, knock on doors, drive canvassers as they canvas, donate money, assemble walk packets with the literature for each door fastened together to make canvassing easier and give them the ability to quickly place it when recipient is not home, we need to sign up and complete more shifts all the way through the end of election day in our area. It is time to redouble our efforts. If possible and affordable we should stay off work on election day and go to the Obama staging locations or Union halls for canvassing or to democratic headquarters or union halls for phonebanking. God bless the Unions working everyday for the people. I do not belong to a Union but we need them. Cmon Ohio!!
PSIf you do not live in a swing state there are many ways to help. You can drive over and help canvass or phonebank. We will find you food and a place to sleep if you need. We want you here in Ohio. If you live in California or New York for example, visit relatives in Ohio and help during the next two weeks. I can think of no better way to support family or friends in battle ground states and your country.
Do not just vote. There is always something else, each of us should do.Get er done.Reelect Obama and elect democrats.

He has said tons of stupid stuff already and the race in swingstates is still tight. DU ers like you and myself must never get complacent. We must reelect Obama and democrats. We must phonebank, knock on doors, driver canvassers as they canvass, make food, maintain staging locations, assemble walk packages in ways that facilitate our canvassers. Let recruit more and more volunteers on the phone and at the doors. While I am in Ohio and I do a lot according to many of my peers, I plan to help more and more. This campaign is now my major focus because I love my children, our people, and our country.
Lets do more!!! Never forget the stakes in this election!
If you do not live in a swing state, donate, and phone bank if you cannot go to one to canvas. If you can come, may the good Lord bless you. We will have the lights on and the welcome ready.

She says she does not want to run, over and over. Why do you not believe her? Why are you concentrating on only her as the future 45? You're not only putting all of your eggs in one basket, but the eggs are not viable! That's insane. We need to be cultivating strong alternatives and promoting a wide slate of possibilities. If Hillary means what she says, and I think she does, we'd better pay attention. We should have started a year ago.

she is running. no doubt about it 100%.(and i wasn't a fan of hers before she became SOS).

I will delete her reference in the OP though, you are correct.

It should just say 45 in 2016.
(and the reason I wanted to put 45 is to indicate 44 is remaining right where he is for another four years. LOL

In some ways in 14 days when we focus further on down the road, it might be even more important than ever to keep democrats in all offices.

but we need to go with our strongest because Jeb will be lurking and I don't believe besides from Michelle doing it, there is any stronger candidate with all her dirt already exposed.
They can't swiftboat her.

because now, when that 3am question comes, well after being one of the greatest SOS of alltime, and proving her loyalty, she can well answer the question.

but you are correct, we can start the debate in 2 weeks. And you are correct, we should be grooming all positions like Rove did (senators, governors, congress, mayors all the way to election board people) like they know already the short list of SCOTUS people.

We must stress the need for everyone to pay attention to state elections. The fact that any Governor may want to purge or suppress voters is now becoming solely a repuklican way to win an election. This cannot happen as effortlessly as we've seen when there are democratic or independent Secretaries of State to keep these voter ID laws from infecting the elections by keeping those from exercising their right to vote!

it's a known tactic from day one in politics

the politics of demoralizing the troops is a known tactic

and the harm is people from outside reading in, and making more and more people aware of something.

remember, everytime we link to a site not on our side or talk about an issue not ours, they are indeed laughing at us

of course we all can do three things at once, and no one is changing their mind, but its the mindset of being positive, especially the last 2 weeks now.

At this point we can probably say the die is cast. The dice are sailing through the air before they land. There is nothing more to do but see what the outcome is. It is basically too late to do anything more and thus we can relax somewhat. Sure the outcome will make all the difference, but for this split second before the elections there is nothing positive or negative that will influence the outcome.

So really, just relax.

I was never worried about Obama winning(I called the race 4 years ago that he would be reelected this year), but we could win the house still(long shot, but its possible) and add more senate seats. Everyone counts for the agenda the next 4 years.

If we want to focus on something seedy, how about the Indiana Senate race, one with real meaning.

If there is nothing more we can do then we should relax and gather our energy for the outcome. Being mentally positive or negative isn't going to make any difference this late in the game.

My point is, if you can do something to still have an influence on the outcome then just do it. If not, then relax. There is an afterlife to the elections. If you want to expend mental energy then do so by being prepared in as positive a way for whatever outcome happens.

That's all I'm saying. But I know everyone has their own way of coping with uncertainty.

Peace.
