I've been reading DU posts about Harry Reid's letters to Comey...
... and posts asking why Garland hasn't acted bigtime.. and posts asking why indictments are not raining all over trump and his henchmen/women in Congress.
Why not accept the simple explanation: Fear? The Powers That Be are afraid that if anything big happens...trump indictments or congressional member indictments, for example... it will start the shooting civil war that is on the near horizon. The outcome is a foregone conclusion, of course, but the destabilization might kill the economy and send ripples all over the world.

1. If you are correct then they would be making a massive mistake.
There would not be any "civil war".
That scenario is simply not sustainable. Some initial chaos for sure but that would be stopped very fast. |

4. Agreed. Any shooting incidents by militia groups with AR-15s...
will be put down quickly. Out of shape, middle-aged men are no match for state troopers with superior resources and weaponry, much less the National Guard if necessary. I also say follow the investigation to wherever it leads or it will happen again.

5. You assume those people will be on the right side.
I don’t.

6. There will be more who take their oaths seriously than not.
We saw that in DC with the loyal Capitol police and the National Guard once they were deployed. You give the traitors too much credit. They'll be put down if they risk going up against local, state and national government forces.

7. I don't think they will be succesful.
But I don’t like the idea of people getting killed.

8. Same here, but if they start something, there will be consequences.

2. It's a real Catch-22
Because appeasement means they will most certainly attempt a coup again, and they might be successful next time, especially with someone more cunning than Dipshit 45.

3. If the choice is between...
...dying on my feet or living on my knees, I'll take the former.
