Omicron lands in Connecticut!
Dr. Grubaugh at Yale New Haven Hospital is top drawer at the Covid sampling thing. He ID'd about 10 percent of samples to be Omicron Wed. Bigger percent yesterday. He figures Omicron will be dominant in CT soon. He has a twitter feed for those with an interest. This news should hit our local msm soon.

1. Looks like Omicron is going to kick Delta's behind in upcoming weeks.
It's in my state too.

2. Of course, it's already in all 50 states. We travel far too much for it not to be. n/t

3. They say Omicron is a "milder" Covid, but it's different. My question is, if you get Omicron
does it protect you from Delta?

4. CT is actually in a delta surge that began in mid Nov.
Cases and hospitalizations are up significantly over the past month in percentage terms. We are the last state in New England to be hit with the current delta wave.
So watch this space! |

5. It should be displacing delta.
So delta will go away and Omicron will infect everyone. Probably in 3-4 weeks.

6. I live in CT. Our democratic town committee in-person caucus is going to be in early January.
The state party is adamant that the caucuses have to be in-person, which I can understand since I don't know how we can verify that attendees are registered Democrats in their correct districts with a virtual event.
In the last two weeks, one in every 165 residents of my small city have tested positive for covid, and that's during the Delta surge. By January, Omicron will be everywhere and it seems inevitable that our DTC caucus will be a superspreader event. First time I've thought about not going, or even resigning from the DTC. ![]() |

8. Yes. Good news there, bad news in Norway.
It's so hard to know what to expect.
