Anyone out there think Lara Logan might be longing for the days of Apartheid?
Maybe its a jump but she grew up, privileged, white and in Apartheid SA
I'm guessing she wants to go back to that

9. At one time she was a correspondant
for 60 minutes. They don't just hire anyone for that program. She's nuts these days.

6. No, I don't
Years ago, she wrote about her opposition to Apartheid.
I also grew up white and privileged in Apartheid South Africa. Don't make such assumptions. |

8. Did she do it at a time when it was risky?
Or did she do it when it was safe?

12. That I don't know
But the answer to your question wouldn't mean much. Not having the courage to object when it was dangerous wouldn't mean that she supported Apartheid.

I don't buy it
You know who wasn't a "Good German?" Sophie Scholl Look her up |

18. My parents didn't speak up about Apartheid
We left the country, instead. Many others did the same. Some couldn't leave.
Some Germans were indeed good but feared to speak up. |

10. Apartheid? More Like Antebellum. Repubs want us to go back to the early 1800s.

13. Actually I wouldn't mind that since there was an enlightenment movement then.
And people were waking up to how insane the church was and how much they were getting screwed by it. So I wouldn't mind if we had another period like that!

11. She seems to have changed...
after her attack. I don’t know what else may have happened around that time or in the interim but I see that as a key event in her shifted worldview.

16. I don't consider that a valid excuse
I could see her going on the anti-Immigration train, but this is public health, totally unrelated to her attack in Egypt

Too bad she's taking the conspiracy track.

She just knew who signed her checks
Once it became Murdoch and co, get on board the crazy train! |
