Be careful out there! Or.... be very lucky out there.
Does this look like a disaster?
Nope... "In what can only be described as a miracle, a driver is heading home with minor injuries after surviving a collision with a semi-truck near Mount Vernon, Washington. Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant said the car – apparently this was once a Nissan Altima – was struck from behind by the truck, folded it in half, and then rolled on top of the car, crushing the vehicle, on the I-5., in Skagit County, WA." https://driving.ca/auto-news/crashes/car-folded-in-half-in-crash-with-semi-driver-miraculously-sees-minor-injuries?fbclid=IwAR0gnRkgTHkb5p8Muu2jLbsPr2dTqV0qPP3TU3nIo8PzTPxtz9_hdW925lQ ![]()

2. I'm surprised the car driver got out alive.
Why I attempt to leave lots of room between me and the vehicle in front. Or if I'm overtaking that I don't cut out in front of the vehicle I just passed - stay my lane...

4. Yeah... did the car driver cut in too close to the truck and slow down...?
...or did the truck driver creep up on the car and when the car slowed down...clobber the car?
Whatever... it's a helluva picture. |

5. That's always a question I consider...
A lot of suicide dare devils out there. A big lawsuit for getting rear-ended by a truck could bring big rewards after all.
I am surprised the driver of the car survived that, I suspect the truck was not loaded or was light. |

8. No.
"According to the Seattle Times, before the accident, a semi truck in front of the 46-year-old woman had slowed its speed, causing her to slow down as well. But the semi truck behind her was unable to brake in time, slamming into her car and sending it forward into the other truck."

13. Most places if you rear end someone, it is assumed from the start it is your fault...
and difficult to prove otherwise. There are laws about following too close. Even if the car in front has no brake lights operating, it doesn't necessarily get you off the hook.

6. My high school boyfriend died in a car accident in 1987 and the car looked barely damaged
He died of a broken neck, head trauma, and massive internal bleeding.
This was one lucky guy to walk away from this! |

10. Well, that's... Terrifying. ...
My dad used to walk me and my sister when we were returning home from a particular church by a police station to see the cracked up vehicles to make us aware of careless driving.
