"SNIP......
Donald Trump and his allies are starting to dangle the threat of the speakership over House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthys head, teeing up a yearlong dynamic that is already emboldening the MAGA wing of the GOP conference and influencing the California Republicans decision-making as he crafts a strategy to win back the House next year, CNN reports.
Some in Trumps orbit have even floated the wild but technically possible idea that the former President should make a play for the gavel. While its a highly unlikely scenario, the fact its even being teased in some conservative circles is putting McCarthy on notice and reminding Republicans of the leverage Trump still has over the party.

(43,153 posts)Trumpists find a loophole, exploit it, then attempt an impeachment two-fer to remove Biden and Harris and place Trump back in office.
It sounds insane because it is absolutely insane.
But so was President Donald Trump, and that actually happened.

(15,062 posts)But it would still take 67 Senators to remove from office.
That won't happen.
The spectacle of impeachment hearings and a trial in the Senate would definitely be insane.
Happy Thanksgiving Tommy!

there will be enough sane enough Republicans to prevent removal.
Hopefully

(1,399 posts)Democrats are only defending 14 Senate seats in 2022, its not mathematically possible for Republicans to hold 67 seats in 2023 - even if Manchin and Sinema defected.
