This Thanksgiving, I'm Thankful for My Parents.

They both died on January 6, 2021 at age 96, but gave me a solid beginning and support for 75 years in so many ways. They're still helping me, through memories and a solid grounding in what is truly important. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

They taught me to think things through and ask questions. That has seen me through almost everything. I'm thankful not just for what I have, but for learning what is truly of value.

Thanks for posting and K&R

I still miss my dad, who died in 2018. It gets particularly tough at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

they helped me get an education, taught me how to think for myself. When I was in 3rd grade I said to Mom "Everyone believes in god." She said "Just because everyone believes in something doesn't make it true."

They have been gone longer than your parents but I miss them so. Especially this time of year.

For the past five years, I spoke to my father by telephone every day. Those calls were important to both of us. As he moved into his 90s, the roles we had changed, and he often asked for advice from me, rather than the reverse. "I'm not a sharp as I used to be," he said.

However, before offering advice on anything, I stopped to reflect on what his advice to me would be in the same situation. We led very different lives, of course, so I wanted to give him his own advice whenever I could. He gave me great advice over the years.
