Briahna Joy Gray: White House is setting Harris up to move past her

Briahna Joy Gray, the host of the Bad Faith podcast, said the White House is setting up Vice President Kamala Harris to usher in another candidate.

The White House is "intentionally putting her in a position where they can have a plausible excuse to move past her. The article cites a possibility of moving her into a Supreme Court position in a way to promote her up and out of the way to make room for someone like Pete Buttgieg," Gray said on Hill.TV's "Rising."

Gray's comments come off the back of a CNN report that highlighted frustrations between Harris's team and other White House officials.

Harris has been tasked under President Biden over difficult issues such as the southern border and voting rights, with Harris aides saying the vice president is not getting assignments where she can succeed.

Gray claims, without evidence, that there is a rift between POTUS and the VP. Then she suggests that VP Harris will be moved over to the Supreme Court opening the VP position.

Which seat at SCOTUS? Does Gray know something about one of the Justices? Doesn’t the confirmation process take months (normally) of investigations and revelations?

What if the Senate doesn’t confirm her? Would she have to resign the vice presidency to be considered for the Court? Or would she retain the VP slot foiling this nefarious plot?

Gray, a total outsider in the Biden Administration reveals this “scoop” based on what?

This is so far-fetched, I call bullshit.

Her judicial experience is as California AG. While it isn't a requirement, when was the last time someone was appointed and confirmed to the SC without having served previously as a Federal Judge?

Earl Warren, came from the California governor’s mansion, he had been California AG. A path not too dissimilar from Harris.

So the last one was Kagan who was the first in nearly 60 years.

Kagan wasn't (she had clerked for Thurgood Marshall, and was Solicitor General of the US, and was nominated for DC Appeals). Others had very short stints as federal judges before being appointed to the Supreme Court. Marshall served for a bit under 4 years, for example.
