Though at the same time, the "low affection" conclusion is really obvious, even if I wouldn't have been able to articulate exactly why. Really the only specific detail I explicitly noticed was the pursed lips.

Tight and flat, yes I agree.
I've always used the term "pursed" to mean tightly closed, period. But googling some, the consensus seems to be the pursed means tightly closed but specifically outward lips.
Who knew.
