(12,985 posts)My point is if people are able to get vaccinated, it will provide better protection than the antiviral pill.
Obviously, this pill will reduce illness and save lives of a) vulnerable people who get "breakthrough" cases, and b) unvaccinated people of all ages and health statuses.

(58,785 posts)Vaccination rates are swinging up around the planet, but there's still a long way to go and one vaccination course won't do it everywhere else any more than here.
Of course that 89% requires it be taken with a protease inhibitor (common drug) and within the first 3 days.
And then there's the Merck pill, which I guess works differently, so there'll be choices.
