Such behavior puts the entire crew, and passengers at risk.
An assault on a flight attendant puts all in harm's way.

If there is a flight emergency, the crew could be unable to respond appropriately if they are dealing with violent passengers.

It is also a big distraction to the cockpit crew who are supposed to be focused on flying the aircraft.
