I called my congress person Pramila's office multiple times with the same message. I see her on the TV every night, and she NEVER mentions Republicans are opposed to every thing most Americans want in the BBB. If she spent as much time explaining to fence sitters who might watch her what Republicans are costing them, we would be crushing Republicans.
Republicans only care about scaring people with made up imaginary crap, and helping billionaires rob us more effectively, and pay no taxes.
Every Democrat should start every speech or media appearance trying to wake up the "undecided voters" with exactly what the Republican Party stands for. Lies, and Fascism. Nothing more, nothing less.
Let's get 'er done.
Republicans are mostly terrorists, and will destroy democracy and install Fascism, as long as they get to play Nazis.
That's the truth.
Rec if you agree, or let me know where I am wrong.

(6,232 posts)with my elected representatives. Form letters three weeks later that had nothing to do with what I wrote about. I find that offensive as hell. They just don't fucking listen to us "common people."
I don't expect them to do what I suggest, but I do expect the common courtesy of a proper acknowledgment.
No more wasting my time with them.

The company eventually changed its name from Air America Radio to Air America Media and lastly to just Air America, an effort to establish itself as a broadcaster on multiple media sources including television and the Internet, and one not merely relegated to radio. Always primarily a radio network, on January 21, 2010, Air America went off the air citing difficulties with the current economic environment. It filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and liquidated itself. Bennett Zier was the company's last CEO including through the bankruptcy and liquidation.

(4,619 posts)I even helped Ed do his show some.
No one on "our side" thought it might be worth spending some $$ to offset so many hours of daily hate radio spewing non stop lies, and attacks on Dems.
Why can't Dems have nice things.
Like radio.
Right Wing Radio is funded by the billionaires who want Dems powerless to raise their taxes. Any price is they pay is a deal.

(34,051 posts)i'd turn on the computer before i went to work so my mom could listen to randi rhodes.
at night i'd make us popcorn and i'd lay down on the couch and she'd sit in her chair and we'd listen to mike malloy's show. it was a family tradition (just like when she was a kid and her family would gather around the radio to listen to radio shows including that little orphan annie and that crushing disappointment the kids experienced when they realized their decoder pins spelled out: "drink more ovaltine" or whatever it said)

no name calling, no pointing fingers, no slamming the door in someone's face
no tripping them up, no dirty tricks or cheep shots, no gossiping, backstabbing, or hitting below the belt
NO MUD SLINGING OR THROWING SAND IN ANYONE'S FACE!
no calling them out, no drawing attention to them,
and when their party tells their voters that *they* gave them the pandemic relief check we'll just be the bigger party and not point out that they didn't vote for it and that they are liars. if it means that much to them to take credit for that then we will let it slide with the high hope that voters will know better (even tho many don't know republicans didn't vote for it)

(8,573 posts)They're represented better in the media because they're always working the refs and have been since the 90's. Their people agitated to the producers and managers of the news and political commentary shows every time the news didn't favor their views, and they agitated for more right leaning guests on the shows. it was a focus of the GOP beginning with Newt, and then got worse during Tom Delay's times as Speaker in the House, and Trent Lott's time as Majority Leader in the Senate. By the time * was selected, Tim Russert was happily moaning about Florida, Florida, Florida. Since then it's just been maintenance of their advantage. That's how and why we now get virtually all our news reported thru right wing framing, and why we see GOP guests regularly outnumber Dems.

(9,073 posts)Hrm. Works with your friends on the Internet. In real life, you'd handily lose in nearly every election.
Sigh. The Bubble is never going to die is it.
It's like that article I read yesterday. "Why white women are the worst ever!" Yeah, let's send that one out as an election pamphlet next year. Then when we lose, it can be, "Why won't they vote for us?! I mean, I insulted them as much as I possibly could, and they still wouldn't vote the way I wanted! Probably because they're all racists."
Sometimes I feel like our political consulting fees are too low.
