IMO, inflation is the issue we should be focused on for 2022

I personally know a few co-workers who voted Biden but have since soured on him. Every one of them cites inflation as the reason. Federal Reserve head Powell says that is caused by the shipping backlogs and not Dem policies, but I think that goes over a lot of voters' heads. The ones I know just say "there was no inflation before Biden started giving everyone money, and now there's terrible inflation so that has to be it."

I really think we are making a mistake if we don't address this narrative. In my experience, issues like Critical Race Theory don't drive votes, but rising prices at the gas pump and supermarket do. If voters go into the polls in 2022 thinking Democratic Congress = inflation then we are going to lose badly.

the Suburbs of VA -

But I agree on Bread and Butter issues -

Pick four or five max - throw some lip service to wedge issues - and do it as a party. Everyone stay on script. That's what the GOP does well.

They stay on script, get elected, THEN they have discussions.

...every time Dems are in a position to do something meaningful, budget deficits, national debt, inflation all become a major concern...

...but when pukes regularly loot the treasury, not to help the average American with their daily struggle, but to make their billionaire friends trillionaires, no problem...

...IMO, the inflation argument is overblown with bullshit...

...sorry...

What they want to hear - that inflation is scary - two things to change their reality.

It doesn't mean that there is ANY reality in it - but if it gets them to vote Democratic - I'm all for it.

Americans will always be predisposed to blame marginalized populations rather than looking inward and examining and solving problems honestly. That’s what we do.

about the economy. If gas wasn’t so high along with food prices I’m sure we wouldn’t be talking about youngkin today. Especially when I hear that CRT doesn’t exist. I don’t have children and I’m not involved with early education. With that said there are people around me always complaining about gas and food. I agree with the OP

issued Nov 1,2021 thru May 1,2022. This is the second highest they have ever paid. That is some scary inflation.

The last couple years of the 70’s weren’t great for Dems and I’m seeing some of the same narratives beginning to percolate on the right that were employed back then to great effect in 1980.

for spreading right wing BS. But it will clearly be an issue if it continues. Ask Jimmy Carter what happens, even if it wasn’t his fault.
