Ann Romney Comes To Florida For A Shameless Breast Cancer Photo Op [by @BeachPeanuts]By Imani Gandy (ABL) October 21st, 2012
This post is by Martha Jackovics aka @BeachPeanuts. Before you read it, you must understand that Mitt Romney supports the Blunt Amendment which would permit your employer to deny you breast cancer screenings (as well as a laundry list of other preventive healthcare services primarily used by women). Period. -ABLxx

Team Romney goes pink as Ann marches streets of Orlando for annual breast cancer fundraiser

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer? Whats Wrong With This Picture?
Notice anything unusual in this photo? I did right away. Normally when theres a breast cancer walk or similar fundraising event, those pink t-shirts the participants wear promote the effort in the battle against the disease. Call me crazy, but I dont see anything on the front of those t-shirts that mentions breast cancer. However, they do promote the effort that Ann Romney cares about most:
Getting her husband into the White House.

(6,440 posts)The fight against breast cancer is something so uncontroversial that one would simply assume that any candidate would be in favor of it, even if they didn't show up at all. To turn it into a campaigning opportunity shows a crassness that is absolutely staggering.

(17,651 posts)Program (as a helper/volunteer) and let me tell you, those women (and men) have more grace, courage, love and strength in their little pinky toe nails than 100 Ann Romneys in 10,000 lifetimes.
She is a despicable, classless, tasteless, clueless, selfish woman and should be ashamed of herself.

(1,635 posts)Nothing like that is ever allowed in our walks and drives against breast cancer. This is what our campaign was told....so shame on the foundation. But they're losing support anyway over the sister running the foundation. This won't help. The foundation is in St Pete. We will remember.

(51,545 posts)I am really shocked that the American Cancer Society let this go on at their fundraiser. Then again, maybe they didn't know Ann would show up with her "Team Romney" t-shirts, kind of like when Paul Ryan barged in on that soup kitchen for his photo op.
Even more shocking that she would show up at a breast cancer fundraiser after her husband says he'll shut down Planned Parenthood, which gives 47% of ALL breast exams in the United States.
Sickening.
There is no 'too low' or 'too hypocritical' for a repug campaign.

(3,344 posts)I am surprised the Cancer Society let her by with it. Komen would not have been so much of a surprise.
I will email and ask why. They depend on donations from people of all political stripes. Cancer knows no class, race or political leanings and Romney in the White House puts everyone at risk.

PhonyAnn shows once more that she is scum!
what do you expect. It's a shameless family. From not feeling any shame about their family generational habit of not defending our county in ANY branch of the service in ANY of America's conflicts, although tagg the fool has enough testicular material to threaten the POTUS because he calls a liar, a liar. Don't forget tax returns, bain, job shipped to China for the rmoney family personal profit. Be damned the lives and families destroyed by those actions is how they act. Shameless and shameful. All these smiling sheeple behind her. I just don't understand it.

(802 posts)...notice. That if that asshole actually ends up as President, this 'woman' will be known by all as First Bitch...I also note that the Secret Service agents with her, at least, didn't have to wear Team Rmoney on their 'disguises' - that's something anyway. I also know that even though I'm absolutely on board with the fight against breast cancer - my Momma lost out to it - that Komen (or however it's spelled) organization, which never seems to use their name while they're soliciting these days, will never again get a dime from me.

(1,412 posts)Bitch!, as low as you can go. She use Breast Cancer as a marketing tool for her husband's campaign. She does not have a clue how offensive this is to women, men and their families who have had to deal with this horrible disease, the pain, suffering and death it causes. Ann Romney makes me want to

(951 posts)I will believe she actually had cancer when I see the pathologists' report. She had a lumpectomy, according to research, no chemo, no radiation. I have had two breast cancer scares, as I call them, and two lumpectomies and multiple needle biopsies. I had abnormal pre-cancerous cells. My mother had breast cancer. I know the difference. That this ***** thinks of disease as a great equalizer is clueless. That she uses a disease to promote herself is sick.
