If Biden pulls off these 3 big things, Dems will crush 2022.

1. Get the second infrastructure bill passed at at least 2 trillion.
2. Get America fully double Covid vaccinated at at least 70%.
3. Convince SineManchin to do a filibuster carve out on Voting Rights.

I know that those are three big tasks.
But all are possible and all are preferred by a majority of Americans.
Go Joe!

1. I think...

... It's possible! The first two will get done, more or less. the results should be felt during Nov 2022. Also, Biden got Afghanistan out of the way early. His Administration is in better shape than the media says, I think...

... they get voting rights done. They've had a couple bills... but they seem dead. I'm not sure what the plan is, now, but they better do something!

if states with Repub controlled legislatures can overturn elections!

29. I'd say #3 is incontestable...

If the voting rights bill doesn't become law, states will end up with the power to ignore election results, Trump's cult will take over the country and do as they damn well please. And it's not hard to imagine how that will play out.

34. Yeah, it will be a Fourth Reich. No doubt there. Trump even practices Hitler's gestures.

These people are now under a black and white American flag, meaning no quarter. Just like Quantril, Bloody Bill and Frank James.

The Confederate guerillas were traitors, and these Trumpies are as well. They have guns, cammies, freeze dried food and bunkers and they think they want, and can win, a civil war.

This is why the voting rights bill is so important - we have that, and it becomes a moot point because these kluxers will fade into the trashheap of history. Don't and we really could tear ourselves apart.

35. ..think they want a war...

Yeah, I often wonder how many of them are actually ready and willing to go to war. I don't doubt the most extreme bunch with the freeze dried food is itching for a fight but the mouthy ones remind you of Trump...big bully with a wide yellow stripe down his back.

36. Exactly. Think about those tough guys that beat the cops with flagpoles and

crushed that one poor guy in a door on January 6. They talked big then, but when in court facing judgement, the tears and self-pity came.

Civil war would be an evil thing, something no sane person would want. Let's hope it never happens.

2. True, hopefully it'll be 3 trillion too

However, Texas and some other states will overthrow the dems that win and install their own puppets and refuse to accept legal challenges from the federal government. I hope I'm wrong but I know I'm not, and when that happens every Qanut fascist seditious trumplican will see it as their big opportunity to try to overthrow whatever statehouse or capital in whatever state they're in.

11. You haven't been paying attention

The 2020 court challenges failed because they were based on unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud.

In 2022, several state legislatures have given themselves the power to reject certification of election results they think arenít accurate or simply donít like. So, rather than the GOP needing to prevail in court, as was the case in 2020, the burden will be on the Dems. Since no law will have been broken, what case would the Dems have to make?

I can post several more... so donít go saying Iím not paying attention. Yes, different issues in 2020, my point is that SCOTUS, conservative as it maybe is not into overturning valid elections...period.
Electors are chosen by the party that wins the popular vote..see Brooking institute report SCOTUS ruling 7/2020 on faithless electors.

If that were the case, and it was that easy.just make a law regardless of how unconstitutional it is...weíd have lost our democracy long long ago!

10. Immigration reform must be on that list - Latinos are sick of empty promises.

Congress needs to push through protection for Dreamers and beyond that, a system to allow a pathway for citizenship for those who have been here for years and committed no crimes other than immigration violations.

We also need a system where people can apply for work permits or temporary visas to visit family as one can do from most other parts of the world, but not Mexico or countries in Central and South America.

A friend helps rescue or recover migrants lost crossing the border. Too often they are dead. Some are fathers or grandfathers who were trying to come here to be with a daughter or granddaughter giving birth, or other family milestones. Why isn't there a legal way to do this?

14. Fingers Crossed

1. Iíd be happy at this point if they just passed the first infrastructure bill - anything we can point to as a win. As a practical matter, they will probably eventually agree on some sort of social infrastructure bill; I just hope itís before the Virginia election.
2. 70% is a stretch. Unfortunately, most of this is not up to us, unless we crack down a lot harder on the unvaccinated (e.g., make them pay their own damn hospital bills).
3. Or something. Voting rights is by far the biggest issue, and the most intractable at this point. I donít care what it takes, but it has to get done. Someone really needs to think outside the box here, or just do what Republicans would do - wave your hands to get rid of the filibuster and say ĎTough s*** - what are you gonna do about it?í

16. The only way it will happen is up to Manchin, Inema, and the progressive caucus

The problem is Manchin and Sinema donít care if we lose the majority on 2022. They have made that very clear

The way I see it, it will be up to the progress caucus to bend to the will of Sinema and Manchin, because they wonít.

Remember Manchin said before the primary in 2020, and he could not support Bernie if he won the nomination

This is what we are up against

23. Someone I know who is not a Biden fan, really roiled how the Afghanistan pull out was handled.

And said it will kill his presidency. Told him 6-9 months no one will remember or care much.

I'm thinking shortly before the mid-terms, they announce a 10k Student Loan forgiveness and a plan that needs to get through Congress that gradually forgives loans, caps what you pay prior to forgiveness, etc.

Younger people are harder to get out to vote during mid-terms, this lights a fire underneath their ass.

27. They better figure out how to slow down inflation and rising prices

If the prices at the pump and grocery store continue rising at this pace, 2022 is going to be a disaster regardless of that other stuff. All people see their dollars buying less and less and itís typically the #1 issue with voters, and voters will blame whoever is in charge.
