I got my third Pfizer vax this morning.

Last edited Wed Oct 13, 2021, 08:24 AM - Edit history (1)

I feel nothing so far, not even a sore arm.

Of course, I've been running on so much adrenaline, trying to get my IBM pension back after some nitwit there declared me dead last week, that I'm not sure I'd notice any side-effects from the vaccination. Could be I'll just conk out from exhaustion when I hit the pillow tonight.

Happy to have joined the booster club!

Edit: Wow, I just noticed there was a response that had to be removed. Are the trolls really so pathetic that they don't want us to celebrate getting protected?

1. Me, too!

Slightly sore arm, no other side effects.

Good luck with your pension!

2. Yay!

Did you get a flu shot too? My doc told me to wait, or I'd have gotten them both. Going back for it in 2 weeks.

Thanks. It's been a very stressful week. And scary how fast they can move to take your money away based on false data, and how slow it is getting it back.

7. I had my flu shot

at my docís office mid September when I went in for a checkup. Although he told me I could get both at once if I wanted to, Iím kind of glad I waited a couple weeks for the Pfizer.

My son had his bank account hacked a couple years ago, itís indeed scary how easy it is to lose your $ through no fault of your own!

17. We just got our flu shots.

Another obligation discharged.

And whenever the Johnson & Johnson booster shot gets here, weíll have that, too.

21. I wanted to do that.

But I have a history of not doing well after a flu shot. So my doc wanted me to get it alone.

My 92-year-old aunt got the super duper one and she said she was quite fatigued afterwards.

3. Great. I got my 3rd last week and it kicked my butt for 2 days.

One caveat though...I also had the flu shot in the other shoulder at the same time.

It kind of sucked but was totally worth it.

4. I was afraid of that.

My doc said to wait so we could tell which one caused the reaction, if I had a reaction.

My aunt got the high-test flu shot and it kicked her butt. I'm going to get the regular one.

Good job on being armor-plated now!

18. Same thing happened to me after my third Pfizer shot

Worst case of flu-like symptoms I have had in years. Lasted two days. But I would do it again.

19. That sounds worse than me. My body ached..

...my freaking joints hurt and I had a splitting headache only on the left side for two days. But no coughing or sneezing or fever. Like hit by a train.

Then like magic it was gone. It just turned off. Weird but worth it

30. I had that happen after my first Pfizer.

Not the aches and headache. Just a little tired and both arms felt like they'd been punched hard. Then it just went away like a switch. Very strange! You're the first person I know who had the same "magic" thing happen.

5. I didn't feel anything for over 24 hours,

for both the 2nd and the 3rd.

I wouldn't be expecting to feel anything on the same day.

Just be careful until it has time to take effect. Our next-door neighbor just developed symptoms and tested positive four days after getting her booster. Now my mom has to get tested tomorrow because they had an unmasked outdoor conversation at close quarters the day before.

6. After the first shot,

I had a sore arm and fatigue for a day. Then the other arm and the back of my neck hurt, and then it all went away the 2nd night.

Nothing with the 2nd shot.

So I'm hoping this is like the 2nd shot.

This is really scary stuff! But I don't go anywhere most of the time. I was masked at the store (Food City) where I got the shot and did a little shopping there while I waited out my time. Hardly anyone was there. So I'm hoping it's ok.

I hope your mom is ok!

8. I'll join the club on Friday

I kind of expect to be wiped out the entire weekend. Pfizer round 2 really knocked me out of commission for a day. I hear round 3 lingers longer.

22. Yay!

Good luck with it. I hope it doesn't linger for you.

I'm feeling a little tired today, but it's been a very stressful week. Hard to blame it all on the vaccination.

9. Awesome!

I get my booster at Safeway tomorrow - free. Haven't decided yet whether or not to get the flu vaccine at the same time.

23. Yeah, they don't even ask for an insurance or Medicare card.

I hadn't decided right up until yesterday morning. I was thinking of going against my PCP's recommendation to space them out. Then the nurse at Food City said it was a good idea to wait 2 weeks for the flu shot ... for ME, not necessarily for everyone.

10. Got number 3 at the VA hospital

Last week. 1 and 2 left a sore arm but typical for any shot I get. Some body aches. But this one made my arm hurt a few hours later and bad all through the night, hard to sleep, body aches were bad second day and tired. Took Day Quil late in the day and the aches subsided. Just glad to get number 3. I have annual physical at the VA November 5 and will scheduled to get flu shot then. Feel good for the protection and if 4 is ever needed, no hesitation.

26. I'm with you.

Whatever discomfort comes from the vaccine is nothing compared with getting Covid.

My arms were sore last night, but I do P90X and this is the week the workouts changed. Sore arms are normal for me at this part of the schedule. So it's really hard to say what the cause is. In any case, I'll take it easy today.

Good luck with the flu shot! I'm eager and nervous about getting mine in 2 weeks.

12. That Pfizer booster shot which I got last week was just like the first two doses last February.

I felt absolutely nothing.

The Shingles vaccine, however, was another story. I was tired all day and spent a lot of it lying down in bed. No ache or pain, just extreme fatigue.

28. Yeah, I'm nervous about the Shingles vax.

My husband got it last week and didn't feel a thing. I'll be the one who gets knocked on my butt ... but I have plenty of time to worry about it since I have to get the flu shot first and then wait some weeks.

32. Just pick a day when you can afford to take it easy and plan to get the shot scheduled the day

before. You might not be affected by it. I did but I had Shingles a few years ago so that is probably
why I was so affected.

Something like the book, "What Dreams May Come" maybe. If I am dead, well, I'm a bit angrier in death. I mean, this really pisses me off.

I left when they moved from Boca to Austin. Drove across the road and worked for the other company, got better pay, better benefits, and better pension. And, go figure, they didn't declare me dead and yank my first pension check.
