Darrell Issa Must Resign

by BooMan
Sat Oct 20th, 2012 at 11:00:32 AM EST

I call on Mitt Romney to demand the immediate resignation of Rep. Darrell Issa from his chairmanship of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. And I call on Rep. Darrell Issa to immediately resign from Congress in disgrace. To stand for reelection after endangering the lives of Libyans working in cooperation with the United States or seeking our assistance would be an insult to our country. If he doesn't resign, he should be treated exactly as Julian Assange has been treated. Doing indiscriminate document dumps of sensitive government records is a crime, and when a chairman of a government committee does such a thing in a nakedly partisan attempt to influence an election, they should no longer serve in Congress.

Something concrete needs to be done. Senate, AG, Pentagon, someone needs to investigate and prosecute if necessary.

There's NO way they're gonna set precedent for backlash that MIGHT be used against them in the future! What we really need against Issa is to catch him tweeting photos of his erection - or find E-mails to minors with lewd language. That's about the only thing that can trip up a mob boss like Issa.

Issa & friends have already intimidated the wussy Eric Holder. There's NO WAY (save for the aforementioned scenario) anyone's gonna throw a stick in his spokes.

has been lacking. The standards now for elected office are so low, that it's hard to get anyone decent elected.

That is because of the attitude that we just can't prosecute elected officials when they commit crimes. So long as we hold onto that ridiculous notion, we will have people like Issa running this country. It is our fault, the people's who are all too willing to accept these ideas which are fed to us.

They need to put pressure on the Republicans just as the Republicans had been putting pressure on them in order to force Rep. Weiner to resign. And he did NOTHING that could jeopardize national security!

This is what pisses me off the most with congressional Dems. They'll openly defy the leader of their own party (think President Obama's order to close Gitmo and nearly all Democrats voting against him), but they squeak and run and hide when a Republican does something this disastrous to the country.

Democrats must DEMAND that Issa resign.

Economic crimes, corruption such as Iran Contra etc.

Democrats go after Democrats or democratic organizations like ACORN, like Shirley Sherrod or Van Jones or Anthony Weiner. I don't know why they are so willing to go after their own and so unwilling to go after actual criminals. The only thing I can think of is they are always trying to get a pat on the head form the bullies on the right. And they never do, no matter how hard they try.

We need some fighters in this party.

Issa's not gonna step out OR get booted out. Imagine Lucky Luciano getting a seat as a town council member. There's no way he's gonna relinquish the position nor the perverse way he uses it. And CONsidering the district he's from, there's no way his CONstituents are gonna see the reality of the mobster they've put in power.

That suggested, el-Sharef said, that infiltrators within the security forces may have tipped off the militants to the safe house's location.

This is an early account but I have heard it repeated since. We will have to see what the final investigations show.

I haven't seen even a whisper about this story in the national media. Without coverage of these bad acts, criminals like Issa feel free to commit any atrocity against the people of the United States that suits their whim and lust for power. There is no shortage in the world of criminals like Issa. If we had true and civically concerned journalism in this country, the Issa's of this world would never get the opportunity to do this kind of damage.

It was on full frontal display on the Maher panel.

I couldn't live inside that skin,
and the arrogance, self-entitlement, self assigned Superiority, bitterness, and spite in his soul was plainly visible on his face and in his body language.
He is exactly like one of the Centurions who would have gladly whipped Jesus at the Cross,
and then felt GOOD about it.

You and I have been together here for many years,
and you know I have a high tolerance for bullshit and politics, and don't easily go over the edge,
but he completely and nauseatingly Creepped-Me-Out on Friday night,
and he is a "man" who has been elevated to a position of Wealth & Power in 21st Century America.

The ONLY good thing I could take away was that he seems to be frightened
that his "position and entitlement" is being threatened,
and that he is an unhappy, tortured man.
While attempting to defend the wealth & power of the 1%, he inadvertently gave us a glimpse of his soul, and it was NOT a happy place.

The actions of some of the GOP border on treason* [I know I'm not technically using this word correctly] in that their Party goals are ahead of the best interests of the country and it's citizens. What is missing from the hearts of such men? Are they simply blinded by hate? by ambition? by power/seeking power? Too many elected officials are unfit for the office they hold. I would LOVE to see Issa out of his job.

*I know this is not the technically correct use of this word!
