Question about automated polls, can you NOT respond to a question?

I've never been polled by an automated pollster.

Are you able to skip a question without answering? Or are you forced to provide an answer?

I'm asking because I'm curious about how people who have already voted would respond to the "Who will you vote for on November 6?"

Would some who already voted skip the question if allowed to? If so, this could seriously skew polling going forward towards election day.

Q - Are you more likely to vote for Obama or Romney? Press 1 for O, press 2 for R

A - I press 1

Q - Are you very likely to vote for Obama, somewhat likely to vote for Obama or not at all likely to vote for Obama? Pres 1 for very likely, 2 for somewhat likely, 3 for not at all.

A - I press 1, wondering why 3 is even an option

Q - Are you very likely to vote for Romney or somewhat likely to vote for Romney? Press 1 for very likely, 2 for somewhat likely.

A - screams into phone, "Fuck you assholes!"
