Waaa!!! (Amazon Prime streaming)

So I've been happily watching Six Feet Under (having seen one episode back in the day when I was on a business trip). Today I settled down for Season 3, episode 3, and found I had to pay $19+ for the season (or $2.50 for the episode). Talk about bait and switch!!! Is this legal? Did something go wrong with my subscription? WTF is happening????

2. This happens to me with all of the streaming services

IIRC I started watching Last Tango in Halifax on Prime, then switched to Netflix because Prime started charging extra, then finally had to watch the last season on Vudu because the other two didn't even have the last season at the time I was watching.

3. "Is this legal"?

Of course itís legal. You didnít subscribe for all episodes of SIX FEET UNDER, you subscribed for Amazon Prime, which had rights to a set of seasons for a fixed time. Shows come and go every month.

5. 30 Rock is leaving Prime in 10 days

I'm cranky about it, as I listen to it while falling asleep.

It has to do with the contracts the company that made the show has with the streamer. Things come and go. Famously, the Office left Netflix so NBC could put it on their own streaming service, Peacock. (I refuse to download Peacock in any way).

Since Six Feet Under originally aired on HBO, I imagine they want it exclusively on HBO Max (it is there).

What probably happened is the original deal to stream SFU on Amazon is expiring, and HBO isn't renewing so it'll only be on their service.

6. This has been happening to us with Prime

Series suddenly switching from free to pay. What we've been running into is a requirement to subscribe to a streaming service via Prime in order to continue watching the series.

19. No, they were foreign series

For one, we had to subscribe to Britbox, which we had been thinking of doing, anyway. The other one required some small streaming service I'd never heard of before that carries mostly European shows.

21. Oh, got it. Never mind. It's just that this week all the HBO stuff in my Prime

subscription went to a pay for it format.

7. They have a weird process also.

Keep an eye on episodes youíve already watched. Theyíll move out of free and into pay only status.

A couple of shows Iíve watched have done this.

Itís still worth it though IMO.

14. I found this article. Sounds like you can:

https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-get-hbo-max-on-amazon-fire-stick

You can get HBO Max on an Amazon Fire Stick, and all other Amazon devices, in a few simple steps.
To get HBO Max on your Amazon Fire device, just download the app and log into your account.
HBO Max is home to a wide host of different movies and shows, both new and old.

11. No, it's not bait and switch.

Shows and movies come and go all the time. You must be very new to Amazon if you hadn't already seen this.

I used to never pay for a series, and finally decided, What the Hell. There are some I'll pay for, others I'll do without. Only you which ones are worth it to you to pay for.

26. Prime streaming sucks.

The bait and switch crap like this is all over their menus. That said, the original content can be good.
