hey everyone, someone beat me to this post and there is a really good conversation going on so I'm going to link to that post. I didn't want to delete this since A deaf DUer pointed out they couldn't hear the video and I had written out what had happened for them.
So, sorry about the double post. And, just a note to us peeps who link to videos, not everyone can hear them so it might be nice if we take the time to do a little sum-up of what happens. :0)

(4,359 posts)He gives a very fire and brimstone speech about the horrors of gay rights. He talks of God's anger if they do such a terrible thing. THen, just at the end he turns a page and acts confused...as if he is reading the wrong speech and he mentions segregation. THen he apologizes and says he is sorry, he was actually reading a speech from the last century about segregation. THen he points out he has replaced the word "segregation" with "gay rights" so that the people there could see that the reasons given against gay rights were the very same ones given to support segregation.
He's a very passionate speaker, very strong--in a style that makes you think he is a very conservative Southern preacher. While he speaks you can hear the audience at the meeting gasping or clapping... and at the end, after he shows the hypocracy of the words and people realized they've been tricked thee is confused response. No response and then some clapping as it sinks in.
Powerful stuff for the words to be twisted like that. Maybe some other DUers will give their take for you.
I hope that helped.

(619 posts)Kudos to that speaker for illustrating the right wing's long history of xenophobia and hatred. Basically, only their targets change.
Makes you wonder - assuming that there are still groups out there for them to attack - Who will be next?
