I know there is a lot of interest on this site about the Covid booster shot. There is an interesting article up on Politico about some of the issues the White House is having with the CDC. One of the issues is when boosters will be available to the general public:

(2,258 posts)She said that the medical community is expecting to get clarification from the CDC about who, when, and what type of boosters between now and the end of the month.
I specifically asked given my J&J first vaccine if I should get an mRNA next time. She said that the whole medical community is waiting for the answer. Given our timeline in Iowa, October 7 was when my age group would first be eligible and more information should be available before that gets here.
With so much new data coming in every day -- I am glad that they are trying to get as much information as possible before making a final decision.
I can wait 3 more weeks while they try to understand a mountain of constantly changing data.

That doesn't sound good for the Sept 20 rollout, does it
